I'm very sorry to hear this, Scott. You were one of the photographers I regularly watch because I can see you growing with my own skills. You've contributed some great stuff, you'll always have photography in the blood regardless of whether or not you have a camera, and I think you and your family will pull through together.

Best wishes and hope to see you back soon when things pick up for you.

Jeff

man, that sucks hardcore. I wish I could help you but I'm a poor student living with his parents. I'll be praying for you and your family. I'm glad it's not goodbye forever just for a couple of months (lets hope).

What a bummer, Scott! Can't the disability lot do anything as an interim payment until they get everything sorted?

Hope all works out.

There may not be much that I've learned in my life, but I know this from my own experience:
When the days are good it seems they will never end. But they will.
And when the times are bad, you feel like you're never going to be happy again. But you will.
It come and it go. Just don't ever give up. :-)

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. Here we have family and each other so our temporary situations seems small when I put it in perspective to what the people of the gulf coast area are going through. Most of them lost everything.

Again thanks everyone.

I feel your pain man. I was laid off 3 times between 1999 and 2004. Once from a small internet company, once from Sprint, and once from the Salvation Army (of all things). I was out of work for 8 months after the Sprint layoff, there were no tech jobs to be had anywhere.

I'm now employed at Sprint again, and hope to God that they're not lying about no layoffs.

Keep your head up.

Sorry to hear about your problems it must be real hard I just thank God that I am lucky to have my health and a job.
it will all work out for you in the end.

A little poem by Henry Vandyke.

Time is..
Too Slow for those who Wait
Too Swift for those who Fear
Too Long for those who Grieve
Too Short for those who Rejoice
But for those who Love
Time is eternity.

I think I speak on behalf of most here @ DPC when I say this -

We all send our love to you and your family and wich you all the best over the coming times of difficulty.
Be strong hold your head up high and be back soon.

I'm so sorry you all are having to deal with what you're going through right now. I'm sure it's hard on all of you. Just out of curiosity Scott, what does your wife do? And where in GA are you in relation to Fayetteville? The reason I ask is that my husband's company is in the process of hiring several folks...at least they were. Maybe there's something there?? Feel free to PM me. And don't worry, things always have a way of working themselves out, eventually. :-)

hey!....I'm with you my friend and in Prayer. I'm too in that same predicament. I lost my job too... I'm having to strip down my things as well and it's just a matter of time I loose the things I have as well. I just want to say I understand and many best wishes and prayers to you and your family.

Ahh yes waiting for disability. It sucks.

It took me a long time to get mine. First because I was very stubborn and didn't want to get it. Second because of my age and what I have I got denied the first time and had to apply again. :(

Good luck. And just do what you need to do so that you don't build up some massive debt while waiting.

Good luck to you, that's a tough situation. Stay strong Scott.

Good luck Scott. Sorry to hear your current predicament. Stay strong and always remember that whenever someone closes a door, "He" sheds light and opens a window.

Have faith and a positive outlook. Things will work out for the best. Good luck my friend.

My ex and I fought Social Security for three years for disability...they want you to give up. Keep after them. Fill out ever silly form, dot every i, cross every t...and NEVER give up. We finally hired a representative to handle our case for the 3rd appeal (yes, we had to appeal 3 times...but it was worth it).

Don't ever forget that whenever the Lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. :)

Hang in there Scott, something will turn up.

Oh Scott, I'm so sorry to hear that.

Probably not much consolation, but I've always believed that everything happens for a reason.

Somewhere, there is an opportunity for you and your family. When I was having a tough time, I started selling stuff on ebay. It was suprising how much money I was able to scrounge up from things I had sitting around the house and junk I bought at thrift stores and garage sales. I hope you don't have to sell your camera, though. Creativity is essential to the soul.

There are tons of jobs in Florida. If your family ever considered relocating, let me know and I will put out the feelers for you.

Cheers,
Roxanne

Hi Scott.

This might be a great place to hang out and all, but it's only a diversion and a local hang-out. Life is more important anyway. This place will probably be exactly as you left it and will still be virtual.

We all hit hard times to one level or another, and yet we somehow manage to rebound.
I am sure you will too.

Take care huh?

Hey Scott, I just wanted to say thank you for alway being there for me and helping me since i have "virtually" known you. You are a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. I am sure you are feeling really bummed right now but please do what Laurie said and fight, keep on them, and never give up.
Feel free to send me letters via snail mail. Let me know if you want my address.

I will be thinking of all of you
Lisa
