Lots of time to waste. I wish. Pool needs cleaning. Trees need pruning. Door handle needs fixing. Photos need indexing. Pictures need taking.

Cheers

Only 5 active members on DPC out of almost 80, and I seem to be the only one up North. Wonder what happened to everyone..

Hey Di

Where in Zimbabwe? I was born in Bulawayo but still have a very good friend in Harare and another in Bulawayo.

G'day from Australia

I have many new friends from Zimbabwe in our local community there are about ten families that have moved here due to having been forcedly removed from the farms and land they have owned for generations, such a shame.

But all are lovely people and want to get on with life in a new country, we seem to have such a similiar culture (beer, rugby, cricket, outdoors)

Is that ever the truth ... bet they give you a run for your money on all of those counts (beer, rugby and cricket) LOL. Hey maybe I even know some of them, the white zimbabwean community was pretty small even when I was still living there.

Gosh, I knew I'd come across quite a few South Africans here, but I never realised there were anywhere near that many.

I'm from Jo'burg - lived here my whole life.

It is so great to see so many from that side of the globe!!! I am going to check everyone's profiles out now.

So, some quick maths ... you are about as young as I am. Although I left Zim a lot earlier than you ... straight after school. Which school in Bulawayo? Townsend, I'd guess? Or the convent? Or Northlea? Or Montrose?

Cheers

my husband, nards656, just had a cousin (and her family) move to Kleksdorp. Not sure about the geography and whatall, but it's just outside Jo'burg. Maybe?

They certainly do..... many a big night over the last couple of years. I think we can lay claim to the rugby and cricket but the beer would be very close.
Some of the surnames are Mann, Flower (not the cricketers), Evans all were large scale farmers now rose growers in NSW.

Klerksdorp, meaning Clerk's Town is about 160km from Johannesburg. That is where I grew up and went to school. My mom, youngest brother and yongest sister still lives there.

Hi there. I was born in Rustenburg. Then moved to Pretoria for about ten years. Have been working in Mauritius since January 1999. Live in Mahebourg (down south - next to the airport).
