I'm looking to buy a Velocity Sling Pack...dilemma is whether to buy the 7 or the 9.
If you have either one, please post what you like or do not like about it. If you have the 9 - what made you decide on that over the 7?

I was originally looking at the 9, but now am wondering if it would be too bulky for someone who is just 5'4"...not sure it would sling around my short torso. I would be packing my 300D, and two extra lenses in it, along with 3-4 filters, 3 extra batteries, 2 extra CF cards, remote, lens cleaning cloths, compass, small flashlight, and eventually an external flash. Would the 7 be big enough for all this?

Any input is appreciated

I bought the 7 and wish I had gotten the 9...My 7 carries my rebel with the kit lens plus a 28-300 tamron lens and the Sigma 500 flash....

so you think it would be too small for all the stuff I listed here?

I'm 5'3 1/2" and the 7 fits fine....I like it

For everything you listed it would be big enough....
hhhmm....how big is your flash? Without the flash you could carry everything....would you be carrying 2 additional lenses along with one attached to your camera?

If you like the 7, and the way it fits, what makes you wish you had gotten the 9?

To give me a little more room...it's tight....and I bought a black round cylinder lens holder looking thing and velcroed it to the side....I'll get another one and that should help so that I have someplace to put my car keys and wallet instead of packing the bag plus a purse.

I have the 7. I usually have the 300d, 75-300, 50mm, kit lens, extra battery, the battery charger, some tape, an extra CF Card, a circular polarizer, a collapsable lens hood, a small emergency cleaning kit, small bottle of advil, a small roll of electical tape and my CF Card reader. It's slightly small, and if I had a flash, it'd be a bit too tight, but I really like the flexibility, and portability, without compromising access to everything.

I have the 7. I carry my D70, spare battery, 70-300 lens, and 50mm.

Works awesome!

I used to have that velocity 7. It fits my 300D with grip, 50mm, 18-125mm, 70-300mm, EF-500 Super DG Flash, 2 extra BP-511, 2 sets AA batts (8pcs), cf card holder, a blower, 2pcs lens cloth, cf card reader, small 300D manual, some calling cards, small swiss knife. The filters are already attached to the lenses.

:o)
