The image that placed 115th in the challenge was a photo of nudes on a medalion or coin. Why was this image allowed when the image titled "Collage of Nudes" wasn't.

I'm not trying to start trouble, I just don't understand.

I wondered the same thing.

I hope the SC's answer to Barry's question is not that the coin is three dimensional. Yes, it has some variation in it's surface but, come on now, it's not like it was a statue or a sculpture.

I think it's because lighting was a key element in that image

to me it looked to be just another literal representation of another person's art. I thought it should have been DQ'd.

Yep, that was it. There is obvious dimension, lighting and shadow detail (think of it as a shallow sculpture). I don't like this type of entry either, but 3 dimensional artwork is rarely (if ever) DQ'd. Note that this was NOT a unanimous decision.

And do note, that the image placed/scored low...

Because many did not like it, particularly within the bounds of the challenge. Had it been a macro challenge entry it might have scored very well. But there was composition in the photo. Trust me, i've tried taking some coin shots and that was actually a decent composition. It's not always as easy as it may appear...nor as simple.

Come on guys...it's get repetitious having this debate every week. If you're really in need of a good debate why not join us in the rant section. There's numerous unceasing endless political discourses to debate for near an eternity in there....

:P

Jason I am not really interested in getting into a "rant". Like I stated I wantedd to know because I was curous.

BTW I think your opinion is flawed and can be argued. But don't ask me to argue them because I really don't think it matters at this point in time.

Thank you Shannon for the quick response. All I can say is that this is another one of those "question marks" we find as we live life.
