In another thread someone said they would like a GTG in Midlands area. Can't move my house but very willing to have a Yorkshire one based here.
We are in easy reach of the Dales, Moors, York, among other places with lots of photo opportunities.

I am willing to put DPC members up at my house,so it would be a cheap w/e ( just bring a bottle!) and partners would be welcome. (warning we own dogs and cats)

Anyone from overseas, London and other areas of UK interested? I can put up between 8/10 people comfortably and more uncomfortably!

If there is an interest we can start to talk dates.

I'm interested! Not sure if I can work it out with time though until spring, but possibly... I'm in Sweden and there are some very cheap flights to England almost always. Sounds like fun.

And here's a bump...

I'm here in the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire. I can make a meet anywhere in the sacred land ;-)

Depending on exactly when & where it's being held, I might be able to make the journey up there, but you'll need to start talking dates before I can commit to anything.

I'd be interested, I have a number of relatives in Yorkshire (who I don't see often enough) and want to spend some time photographing the Dales.

Just had a 'breezy' week in the lakes - that would be a cool location for a slightly the more adventurous?? Plenty of excellent walking and the odd quality drinking hole or two!!

Or even an Oxford event??

Where would be based at my home, Ripon, and when would be any weekend that most people can make it.

How does October sound?

I could probably just about make that, but it'd be a heck of a drive (4-5 hours), or I guess I could find a train.

I'm away for the middle part of it, but the two weekends at the end of the month might be possible, depending of course on when the London GTG gets arranged for. However, please don't let my availability dictate what you folks decide upon :o)

Thanks fo the PM Riponlady.
I would be interested I spend quite some time in whitby and on the moors getting some pics.
Seeing some fellow DPCers would be great.
The only problem I have with October is that I am in Scotland for the first week abw (all being well).
I have bookings for 15th and 22nd of October.
So that leaves the 29th at the minute for me.
I can only make Saturdays as I have prior arrangments for Sundays, but I am only about 150 miles south of Whitby area, so I can do it Friday Pm and return Saturday Pm - if that would be considered ok.
Keep me posted Ripon.

Would be interested but I don't think we'd be able to do it this year - if you hold another one next year sometime perhaps we'll be able to come to that one?

Have FUN!

Myself and Aurora would certainly be interested in popping across from the Red Rose county.

I am most definately interested in a Yorkshire GTG however my next trip to the UK probably won't be until next year. As Kavey said, maybe there can be a repeat.

Looks like we have a GTG!

How does the w/e 28th/29th October fit in? Anyone who wanted to come up on the Friday would be welcome and we can arrange pickup from Thirsk station if necessary.

Also where do we want to go for photo shoots? If anyone has preferences say now.:)

For those who would like to visit next year, (Kavey, Cpanaioti,Manic if you can't make it to this one), I'm happy to host another one all being well.

Looking forward to meeting everyone

Hmmm... I've looked into the train ticket prices, and they start at £70 :o/ I might consider driving it, but it's a heck of a journey. I'll let you know closer to the time :o)

Spoilt for choice, so many paces I want to visit, to name a few...:

Fountain Abbey
Bolton Abbey
Skipton Castle
Brimham Rocks
Ripon

Would it best to choose a city location....York
Not sure there are many watering holes at Brimham Rocks??

From the house, Fountains Abbey/deer park/water garden is 5 minute drive. Brimham rocks is 10 minute drive further on same road. Bolton Abbey (+ beautiful scenery on way) is 25 minute drive further along same road. Skipton further still.
Ripon itself is 2 minute drive/ 8 minute walk before visiting "one eyed rat"(indeterminate number of minutes walk home) - still has hornblower setting the watch ceremony every night at 9pm.
York is 40 minutes drive in opposite direction.
Many other places of interest within easy reach.
Hope this whets peoples appetite for a visit.

If it makes life easier, we drive Ripon to London regularly. <4hours driving time and no speeding fines yet.
Investigate bus
Come anyway - you'll love it

Just to clarify John's post, "The One-Eyed Rat" is just about the best pub in Yorkshire! No food (but next door to a fish and chip shop), no music, just excellent real ale! A proper pub!

Just seen this post, I've been trying to tempt people into a Yorkshire DPC meet for ages... I'm definitely up for this.
