What would you do in photoshop to improve these images? What are some obvious mistakes? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

im hardly a nature photographer, but as a general rule, i would do some -EV to compensate for highlights then adjust the raw file accordingly.

Fantastic, Rikki11. Thanks so much for the detailed settings. I can't believe how much potential I had missed in this image by not setting it properly. A revelation to me as a relative newbie.
