I am thinking of buying a new camera with a better optical zoom. My camera now is 3x optical. Could I get a better zoom at 6x optical. Any problems with that much zoom?

On my S602 I have 6x but the 8x of my casio spoiled me!!
The more zoom the better IMO!

Since 3x optical is pretty much standard for mid and lower range digital camera models, you're going to have to be willing to shell out quite a bit more money to get a 6x optical zoom. Not that it isn't worth it, I don't know because my 2500 is all I've ever had, but it's going to cost you a lot more than your 2500 did.

my camera has 6x optical zoom and isn't wildly expensive
Take a look at the fuji 2800z
It's fairly simple as far as other features go, but if you're looking for an inexpensive camera with a lot of zoom, it could be the way to go |

The Olypus c2100uz has 10x optical with 2.7 digital and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Does nice pics with lots of bells and whisles

My camera was under $300. Just took these shots through my dirty living room window...
No Zoom:

6X

No edit except crop. I try to stick with the optical zoom and not use the digital zoom, but occasionally, I give in to temptation...
