model portfolio shoot~HELP!!!~ - DPChallenge Forums

If ya'll dont remember a few months ago i was asked by a young man if i would shoot his modeling portfolio.of course i said yes but he has shuffled his feet until this past weekend when he finally spoke to a modeling stidio. they told him he was too short for fashion but that he has great bone structure for some other type of modeling. they have a shoot in NY in a few weeks and they want his portfolio( which hasnt even been shot yet) i am now going to be rushed on my first shoot and processing which is ok with me because of the exposure i might get. so my question is this: what poses should i place him in? and i still dont have a "signature" to place on the portraits. I am doing this completly free for him but i will be burning him a copy onto a CD and he will have to go to wal-mart and have them printed out himself. I want the name to be "Cher's Photography" but i have no idea how to put this onto my photos and not make it look like a preschooler put it there. I want it to look very professional both for him and for myself. can any one help me? I have searched around for poses acceptable for the male gender but there isnt many( that i have found). if anyone knows some website that has male models please post me a link.

i took a couple senior portraits a few months ago if u want to see some of the pics?...they were some of my first portrait work but i'll be happy to e-mail u the pics (to get ideas for poses)

Probably one of, if not the best, when it comes to headshots.

For the "signature" or copyright, just create a text layer in Photoshop and adjust the opacity. Here's an example

if you're going to do a full body portrait and you want to make your model look taller. zoom out and shoot from a lower perspective. as for poses and styles, it sort of depends on what type of modeling he's going into i think. i dunno, i can't really think of much i've never shot a male model.

I need to do 3 body and one head shot but i told him we would go ahead and do a full shoot so he can decide on which ones to print out and send. this is for a modeling posistion for Abercrombie & Fitch.

does anyone know if i can at least put a small copyright on the front? i would like to put my company name,my name, address, and phone number but i am not sure if thats acceptable in the modeling portfolio world and i want credit for these shots. he should be here any moment....time to start getting things ready. :o)

Don't know about the watermark/copyright/whatsit, but if you know who he's shooting for, grab a copy of their catalog and use that for inspiration for some of the poses. Ditto for some of the other male-type mags (not FHM or Maxxim - the workout mags and such). Might give you a springboard to base your (his) poses off of.

You dont have to put the copyright on the pictures. Just send the cd of your photos to this link. You can have them all copyright protected for one flat fee. Then no one will be able to use them, and if they do you can sue the bejesus out of them.

Hes needing 8X10's to give to the modeling agency who will in turn send copys(i think) to Abercrombie & Fitch. not exactly sure how all that works but its a modeling agency in dayton Ohio. I really need to learn how all this works but the photography session has been rescheduled for 8am tomorrow. if anyone has any info about a watermark/copyright allowence please let me know. i will be working the photos tomorrow and will be giving the copys of the best ones tomorrow evening.
