I was ask today what I like in photography. In fact, just pressing the shutter makes me thrill! Why? Well, I think I am amaze to what can come out on a picture compare to what the eye sees. The magic and the power to create an image so different and at the same time so realistic ... In fact, I can't really say why I love it, but I know I just do!
So why do you love photography?

because the thought of being able to actually have someone else see through your own eyes is very comforting and appealing.

because I find it awesome that I can freeze a moment in time and view it whenever I want.

Because it's my church. My time alone with my thoughts and my dreams. It is my therapy...but I'm not quite sure yet if it's any less expensive!! LOL ;)

Photography is the most relaxing thing I can do... After a long day, or week, the only thing that can wind me down is some down time with my camera... That, and I love the ability to show people what I see with my eyes, and my mind... I also think it's facinating to capture an instant of time, and then be able to study every detail of that instant... I LOVE IT.

I HATE it...I take crappy fuzzy pictures. I only do this to stress myself out and see how many scores in the 4 range I can rack up. I would love it if I were good but that ain't happening. Maybe in my next life. lol

I dont really hate it - just wish I took clearer shots. Anyone want to donate a good lens or two to my cause? It will help you in return as you won't have to look at my fuzzy fotos in the challenges anymmore. I'm too broke to buy better glass.

I am an optimistic positive person. It is my nature. I am also a 26 year old trapped in a 54 year old body, but I digress.

That being said, the world is major league broken with many many bent and broken people. I am uplifted by the fact that the world mostly "works" often in spite of itself.

I love photography because if I can find little bits of the world that are beautiful, uplifting and positive, and if I can photograph these things and places and people, maybe I can change at least one person's world view ... tell them that in spite of its broken nature, we can still make our part of the world different ... beautiful.

Back to my philosophic cave while I attempt pictures worthy of my philosophy.

I feel I love photography because I am mentally unstable. I love the way the sublight reflects off the tripod legs in the morning. It looks like...

so i have blackmail pics. :)

seriously, a lot of the reasons people have said already.
i like being able to capture that moment in time, and also through the power of cropping and skills, taking something that might not be so beautiful or interesting and making it appear beautiful and interesting.

Because I sold my boat and I needed another "hole in the watrer" to pour money into. Come on, you know you all like the spending part the best. Like a kid on Christmas eve you sit at home all day on the day UPS is scheduled to deliver your new .....

The chicks.
No doubt about it

...And the toys
And that satisfying click when you push the shutter...
And, well, all of it

I had a fashion photographer tell me that he spent all of high school trying to get girls to take off their clothes. He didn't figure it out until later that if you have a camera, all you have to do is tell them to take them off.
