Could someone please tell me if exif data is automatically sent with original if requested. I see all the data here but am not familiar with how it gets transfered. Perhaps a very silly question but certainly better than not asking at all.

yes, as long as the original has not been altered in any way and then resaved,m the EXIF data stays intact. Once you do something to the pic and save it, it is lost. ALWAYS work on a COPY of the original.

As rex pointed out, if you send the original unedited photo, it should have the EXIF data attached.

When I download the images from my camera, the file contains the EXIF data and that data is viewable via the Nikon software provided with the camera; in my case its Nikon Browser. When I edit the file with Photoshop and Save the file As a .jpg file the EXIF data is gone. So if you send the original file, it will have the EXIF data. If you send the edited file it may not.

This suggests that you will always want to make a copy of a photo before editing so you do not mess up this data or the original photo in an editing accident.

edit: added apology at the beginning.
