I took these pictures this weekend at my son's soccer games. They have spots that are blurry and I (even with reading some photoshop help information) cant seem to make any of those areas sharper. Is it possible?

The third and fourth photos seem to have the focus in the wrong spot, so there's not much to do about it, I guess. The second photo seems to me to be in focus. And the first photo might be possible to sharpen at least a little into focus again. But that might give it an oversharpened look instead.

| Since your son was moving at the time you took the shot depending on the shutter speed of the camera at the time it could have allowed for some movement which would have made it look blurry. You might want to make sure you aren't in spot meter or focus as well. |

The shot of your son is caused from "motion blur". In other words the shutter speed wasnt fast enough to freeze the action. There is little that can be done about this on this particular shot I am afraid. If you have a sports mode on your camera you may want to try switching to that when you do action shots in future, it is set up to give a faster shutter speed.
I dont know much about your camera or its functions.
The first dragon fly is great. The background being out of focus is normal, it is called Depth of Field (DOF). You get different DOF at different appertures and with different lenses. This means that a certain distance in front of and a certain distance behind the subject will be in focus, anything further away or closer will be blurred (as I say this varies with how wide your lens is and what f-stop you are using). Because you hadnt zoomed so close on this shot the whole insect was in focus but as you zoomed closer the DOF became shallower until the closest one only the middle of the insect was in focus while the head and tail were blurred. In macro (close up) work you will always see that the focus point is critical.

I used emboss to try to make it sharper. This is the best I could get.
