I would just like to congratulate everyone on their entries - I never expected such great work to come out of MS Paint! After much deliberation I have decided to award the following three entries 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, although it was not an easy decision!

Results

---

1st Prize - A 16x20 or 20x30 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price, goes to:

AnNaH

Far From Home, by scalvert

---

2nd Prize - An 8x10 or 8x12 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price, goes to:

bledford

Bulldozer, by welcher

---

3rd Prize - a 4x5 or 4x6 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price, goes to:

kpriest

Breeze, by Philos31

---

If the winners contact me by PM when they can, I will reduce their choice of print to base price until they have purchased it. If you want a smaller print than your awarded prize, you are welcome to:

2 prints if it is 1 size down (eg 8x10 to 4x5)
4 prints if it is 2 sizes down (eg 20x30 to 4x6)

Congratulations!

The Challenge:
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a recreation of a famous DPChallenge photograph using nothing but MS Paint, the program we all love to hate.

The Rules:
- The photo you choose can be any photo you want on DPChallenge, as long as it is not your own. It does not need to have been entered into a challenge, it can be in a portfolio.
- You may only use MS Paint to create your image. Any suspision of foul play will result in your entry being void.
- You may only use the default colours. You'll need to be creative to get the shades you want, especially if you're attempting a black and white piece!
- You should post your finished work of art here, along with the original photo it is based on, with credit to the original photographer.

Here is an example of an entry I've done:

Original photograph: It's a Frog Eat Frog World by Rackat

The Judging:
Judging will be done by me. Things I will take into consideration are: Technique, Likeness to Original, Attention to Detail, and other Top Secret things!

The Prizes:
1st Prize - A 16x20 or 20x30 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price.
2nd Prize - An 8x10 or 8x12 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price.
3rd Prize - a 4x5 or 4x6 print from my gallery on DPCPrints at base price.

Good luck, and have fun! You have until the results of the 'Wooden' challenge are announced to enter! Feel free to enter as many times as you want. Just post your entries into the thread :)

Here's my entry. Sorry Bianca, I only had my laptop and no mouse to work with. Turned out pretty good. Can you guess which one is the original?

edit: no details left behind ... note the belly button ring.

Presuming that faithfullness to the original will be justly rewarded with a high finish, I offer the following (mine, of course, is larger and more detailed...):

Based on "Canberra at Night" by MattB —

Shall I choose my print now or do I have to wait? :-)

Tribute to Joey Continues

I must add here that I have never drawn anything with MApaint in my life. This was my first time using the program. I apologize for the rudimentary rendition. Obviously some of you are very good with the program, amazing really with such basic tools.

I love MS paint, I was always doodling on it during computer class but this 'only using the given colors' thing is really taking the wind out of my sails:-)
