What do you think? Everyone else is doing it. We in the midwest also deserve to have fun!

How about a get together? Are you interested? What time frame might work for you? What sights do you think we should visit?

Let's discuss this....

Do you have any suggestions of interesting destinations?
I am most familiar with Columbus area including Delaware, Granville, Pickerington and Hocking. Hocking is very beautiful.

I was thinking Cincinnati may also be an interesting to meet. That way folks from Kentucky and Indiana may also be interested in attending.

If its any where near the Cleveland area I'm in, might be able to do Columbus as well.

Toldo has a nice zoo, but it's sounding like central OH is ong to be more convienient for most... ummm... Columbus is pretty cool. Cinci would be a blast, lots of great old homes there.

I'm in West Virginia, sounds interesting. Let me know a time and a place when decided.

I'm interested as well. Hocking is just great in the fall. There's a hot air balloon challenge in Middletown this weekend, but that's pretty short notice.

If we end up in cinci or dayton I live rather close to both and go to school in dayton so I can play scout and plan stuff out. If we get really serious I can help find hotels and make out some sort of rough plan.

Where is middletown? It may be too short of a notice to plan a gathering. But, I still maybe interested if it is not too far. Any one else?

Just did a mapquest on Middleton from my city - 80 miles, that is very do-able, just need a time and place.

I am trying to find some information regarding this weekend in Middleton....

Here it is Ohio Hot Air Ballon Event. According to this site the event is over 3 days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday the ballons will be launched in the evening around 7. Then on Saturday and Sunday the ballons will be launched in the mornings, 7-9am. So how does this fit into your schedule?

Bump..

ok, well I don't know. Friday would be best for me. I can bring along some photographers from school with me to since I have class until 5. If Saturday is better for the group I can come saturday morning but sunday is out due to church.

Just let me know.

I think I am going to head down that way on Friday. Then if it is worth the drive - I may head back over on Sunday.

Keep in mind I am still seeking discussion regarding a better planned GTG. 2nd or 3rd weekend in September in Cinci?

I think friday sounds good to me too. Do you want to meet up, if so when and where? I will be going to the hot air baloon thing for sure and I get off of class around 5 and I'm in dayton at that point in time.

Maybe we should do SE Michigan GTG. I'm in Temperance, just two miles north of Toledo. Do you want to start another thread?

Toledo does have a fine zoo. I took 250 pics for the zoo challenge, and only had fence visible in about 10% of them.

We could do a SE Mich GTG, I think a new thread would be a good idea too. :)

If we get a show of interest we could definitely do a GTG of Ohio and Michigan together. Maybe we can settle some of the rivalry.

So, you don't think it is a good idea to do a combined GTG?

Amazing with Ohio being so centrally located to so many states we could really do this. Where are all the midwestern Dp'ers?
