Started at 7.0 last night.
Dropped to 4.9 ... at which point I decided I'd better go to bed.
Now, with 94 votes, it's back up to 6.0 this afternoon. I swear, the early voters are ruthless. All of my scores go up after the first night's voting.

*sigh* I keep telling myself that being happy with my own photo is worth it! There is such a stunning amount of excellent photos in this challenge and I knew it would be difficult. But still, it's hard to see what you think is a decent job not do as well as it might in some other challenge.
But that's part of the fun, right?! Had a good time taking the shot and I think I can be proud of it, even after next week :-)
Now.....to mug some poor sap for about $1200 so that when the NEXT macro challenge comes around I can KICK BUTT! hahaha

Funny thing is they never seem to catch what the subject is in my photos, even if the title spills it out. I like that, it means they actually have to think, but only a few take the effort. I like both my comments, even got an 8, thank you voter.

Interesting. I was above a 7 all day long, almost 7.1. My last SIX votes have averaged a 4 and I'm back down to 6.8947. That many bad votes all in a row?

| Well.. let me rant.. no.. let me froth... My average entry which looked superlative until the moment the first votes came in has been roundly beaten in the past day by astounding macros that fell into my lap AFTER the challenge ended. There is something nefarious in the way this works, a challenge ends, and suddenly much better opportunities are available. It is not the first time this has happened and it merits a hard look.... just what forces cause this correlation between challenge dates and mysterious oustanding opportunites outside of eligibility.. hmmm? Mid fives and choking. |

WOW...There are some really great shots in this challenge. Mine not necessarily included! I'm only about half way through the scoring and I've already given out more 8's, 9's and 10's than any other challenge. Maybe I'm just feelin' good today, but it seems to me there are a basket full of great shots in this Macro/Close-up Challenge. Great shot everyone, and Good Luck!
