Hmm.. if my entry were a plane engine number one is on fire, number two is smoking, three is not sounding real good and four.. hey.. where is engine number four! Losing altitude with a funny high pitched whistling sound.

Well, I'm going to bed with my best start ever. Cold experience tells me to be prepared to wake up to a quite different reality.

Great entries across the board. I predict a high scoring challenge. Well done gang. Good luck to one and all. I can't wait to start voting. This will be a pleasure. My first run through was a joy.

Cheers!

I can't believe the voters are so narrow minded! That's what I get for thinking outside the box! My wife picked my entry! :P LOL

At least I will probably only go up from here. AMAZING amount of impressive competition in this challenge!

i guess the same "mistake" a few submissions made, was thinking that anything that shows a CLOSE-UP shot will surely be a good photograph.

So I'm thinking that the challenge should have been called CLOSE-UP rather than MACRO V, just for the people who can't do a real macro. (I'm not faring too badly, being at 6.4+ with 31 votes, but it is a macro shot).

I agree that would've been a better title. Although the challenge descriptions always mitigate or broaden the implications of the title, people generally rely heavily on the title when voting and many never even read the description.

You must abandon your quest for fame and fortune with that loaner and go get yourself something worthy of your talents.

Did you hear something, Brad? I thought I heard your conscience speaking. ;-)

Hmmmm... though it was the mexican food I had eariler tonight.
Something sounded weird anyway. :D

All in due time on upgrade too. Going for what I want, not what I have to settle for. I hate remorse.

For now, I am having a good giggle with this challenge.

I am also learning it is far harder of a learning curve to go down to a P&S than it ever was moving up to a dSLR.

LOL:))

If mine were a horse the RSPCA would have rushed in to put it out of it's misery. It would then be stuffed and mounted and displayed in the DPC Hall of Shame. DPCers would throw rotten tomatoes at it and then turn on me. They'd force me to clean Slippy's thong with my toothbrush and then use it...(the toothbrush I mean)

Started a little higher than usual, but then...I guess they won't count it a macro but more a close up. Well, I like it very much myself, so I don't care. Haven't seen the other entry's yet.

My image is a bit controversial according to some of the 35 comments.

One of my worst scores for a half decent image.

Lets see what happens between now and the dead line.

LOL.....That sounds exactly what my entry is doing. I better put on my chute and exit this plane.

I second that kpriest, but voters mostly choose one word out of the description, in this case 'macro' and don't bother to read what it says next - "Get up close and personal with the subject of your choice. You need not specifically use your macro feature, but your image should be a close-up shot ".

VOTERS.....did you actually read this????? "Need not specifically use your macro feature, but should be a CLOSE-UP SHOT!!!!" ???

Ok, have to close down for some time, it's pouring rain overhere and big thunderstorm is coming in fast. Have to unplug the whole lot before I get fire balls rolling in my pc here.
