Just for fun. Just shot this after doing some watering:

Would this be considered a macro

Sure, unless his head is 30 feet long!

I've been trying to figure out macros - playing with pansies in my flower bed. Here are the three best so far. Any suggestions as to how I might improve them would be greatly appreciated!

//coltoncommunity.org/pansy03_cropped.jpg
//coltoncommunity.org/pansy12.JPG

The first two were shot at 400 iso. The last was shot at 100 iso.

Those are very good. My only objection is that they're so big I have to scroll to see the entire picture. Resize to no larger than about 800x600 so most people can see it on their monitor without scrolling. Good sharp focus and good lighting. The second is a little dark.

Hey Wendelika, for the web, to display photos, you should make them smaller, at smallest size, 640 pixels on one dimension. The ones you posted are fairly large, the smaller they are, the faster they are to load, and you can see the whole thing on one screen.

Nice photos though, keep shooting,

Simon

The second one that you commented was dark, I used an unsharp mask on and adjusted the color balance a little. Maybe I overdid it.

Sorry, I quoted the wrong post. That should have been strangeghost:

Can you tell I'm new at this?

Is this macro enough to put in this thread and try to get some more views and maybe a few comments?

elsapo,
it looks like a half second later and you would have missed the little creature! I love the colors in the sand and the crab!

Not sure if it's technically a macro, but it's close enough. ;)
