Hey, did you notice that the Flora ribbon winners have one of each:

One "wild" flower
One flower that wasn't a flower (showing creativity)
and one "studio" flower

PLUS: in the top ten:

Several flora "non flowers" (cacti, succelent, leaves)

All excellent pics, by the way. They match pretty much my top images for once!

With all of the debate over the flora challenge, it seems we're making progress toward diversity! Think?

I loved all the winners, and all the top 10, too. Unfortunately, I only had time last week to vote on about a third of the flora shots. As I go back and look, my random viewing of the shots didn't include any that ended up in the top 10. So, I missed seeing all those great shots in the voting! I gotta make more of an effort to vote on every photo, just to make sure I don't miss any great and inspiring ones!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the comments on my "flora" image "A California Pasture". Only my 5th DPC entry and even though it ended up only 76th...It sure got noticed, and that was a good thing. Thanks all.

One flower which isn't even a plant! (See previous threads for details). I hope your analysis of the situation is correct...

Don't you guys really mean it was a great "Top 12?"

Sometimes taking the narrowest interpretation of the challenge theme is the safest. Few ever went nuts over coconut trees anyway. The flowers were beautifuly digitised. CLICHE !!!

Congratulations to the winners.

p.s Tried for hours to upload a 5mb printable file but on completion a page appears and says I am not a member. Anyone encounter the same problem???

Yeah, mushroom isn't a plant.....

Also, i really didn't like the winner's photograph -- for me in nature i'd never would want a color shift like that but that's just me :) I thought his white balance was off, because that's what you'd get if you had daylight balance when it's cloudy, the green would dissappear and it'd be bluish.
