ha! I fully expect to reach an all time low with this one.

I must be doing something wrong when resizing and saving for the web. The pics look so much different than they do before I resize/save for web. Like my entry ehre it just looks like a bad pic. But on my screen before resizing it looked crisp and clear.

Feeling very down too! My beauty entry didn't do too well, but the three before that kept getting better and better. Coming down to earth with a bump...

I would recommend that you use the preview button on DPC after submission. That way you get to see whether the presentation is what you wanted.

It's the attack of the photogods! my score went from 5.78 to 5.65 in only two votes... c'mon now, please comment on why you give 2s or 3s... it meets the challenge and it isn't out of focus, it is 640 pixels wide, and...

oh well... I'll check again tonight. Yeah, right ...

Best contest for me yet.. First contest I've actually gone out and tried to capture the contest instead of looking through my daily photos and seeing if anything would fit.. I hope I can make it into the top 20, that would be great. I usually hit 40-60% ranks :-/

Thx - I do and that is when I notice they look like crap. However, I just read one of the tutorials here and I believe I found where I am making the mistake and it is simply the order in which I am doing things. So I may tank on this one - again - but perhaps I have discovered a method for improvement.

Edit: Tanking but got a great comment.
Edit part the second: And now I am really in a disheveled state. I just redid my Construction entry with my new found method and the difference is amazing. Now I can't promise I will take more interesting photos, but I think I can make them look a little better...maybe...perhaps I should keep my mouth shut...damn foot...ouch...what the @$%#! Hey - get out of my @#}+$%_)(af#@!$+)cq#@$)......

Arent' they found on construction sites often though.. Perhaps if it was a challenge for 'building' use of a crane wouldn't be needed, but its hard to find construction thats easy to photograph well without it being long instead of tall. Fun to shoot construction sites go UP heh :-)

I know what you are saying, but I have to admit, a couple of them are really good images...!

I seriously can't figure this one out. This was supposed to be my new top ranked shot, but then again who knows what goes on in the minds of the voters. All of the comments have been good and I personally feel it's one of my very best.

I have been a member of dpchallenge for a few months now, yet this is my first challenge. I honestly was hoping that my picture would score higher, but I've received a lot of great positive feed back on my pic which I know will help further me as a photographer. I'm thankful that dpchallenge exists!
Good Luck to everyone!

I work slooowly towards 6, inching up 0.005 by 0.005, by getting 6s and 7s, and then I get a 3 and it stumbles back down....

currently at 5.98 from 135 votes

While you're trying to hang on to a 6 I'm trying to claw back up to 5. When it gets close someone hits me with a 1 or 2 to put it back down. That's what I get for trying something I like and not something cliché.

Colette,

hanging on to 6 is a new experience for me. I never came close to it with >10 votes before in my DPC life. And trolls... oh well...

I don't think that mine is a cliché, but it is not a contender for a ribbon either. It is fun though to watch my construction entry fight my naturally framed entry. It's close...

Good luck with obtaining your first 6. If it stays as close as it is you should make it due to the last second adjustments that usually happen.

BTW, I wasn't suggesting that yours was cliché just that my other options were.

It seems to have been right around there the whole time. Which if it stays right around there I'll be happy for my first entry into a challenge.

And, out of the 4 comments I've gotten, only one person completely missed the point of the photo. That's a good sign I think... 75%
