About the person who was posting: "I don't feel that the image conveys instantly recognizable decision."

I'm sure his intention was not to hurt anyone, rather to simplify his commenting process. I bet he was only trying to give everyone a comment because he thought they all deserved something for trying to enter the contest and he could not think of over 100 unique things to say about why the photo didn't score better. I'm sure he also wants to apoligize for making people feel like he didn't even look at the photo, when I'm positive he spent lots of time reviewing each one for some reason to give it a better score.

I don't think the guy has been here that long and no harm no foul he did take the time to add to some of his comments at least he did on mine. As always comments are greatly appreciated

Ok - Diplomacy hat back on - ditto what rex just said.

BTW - Don't you just LOVE DPC?! ;^)

i'm sure the commenter doesn't love it so much right now.

If all comments were exactly the same then it might be a problem, but I don't think anyone can really take issue with a "form" comment that simplifies the process. I didn't agree at all with the opinion, but that's perfectly fine, and I marked it helpful anyway. At least it provides some insight into the score given, and I appreciate that. I'll take all the copy/paste comments I can get. ;-)

Never know - perhaps the commenter is having a blast with all the ruckus that's been raised over his comments.

It's the ONLY comment I've recieved for all my trouble, so for that I'm grateful.

BTW what's the difference in "choosing" between a Nikon(D70) or a Canon(20D) OR "deciding" which one to buy? Making a menu "choice"(the Chicken or the Steak???)OR "deciding" on your Main Course?

Note: I haven't made more than a quick glance at the entries so I hope my example doesn't to apply to and one specific image.

06/02/2005 04:29:36 PM · #212
Haha, I wish I could get up above 5.
This challenge just has not been the kindest. Hopefully I will learn some and take a better shot for the next challenge!

Well I just finished voting and I have to say they are a truly depressing set of images. Theres more suicide, drink driving and empty roads than I ever want to see again ;-)

Been falling steadily now all day. Lots of comments, but not many with suggestions or reasons for low scores. Of course it is always nice to hear why people like an image, but what really helps us is why people don't like the image. Clarity, composition, color - these are the best subjects for comments.

You are so right, all I can say is somebody pass me a glass of wine. Then I will go through again, LOL.

:( I give up. Score is one of the lowest in a while and most of my comments aren't doing much but telling me that it doesn't fit the challenge ( which I truly think that it does, you just have to look at it for more than 5 secs! ).

I did get one comment that was very indepth and described exactly what thought process he put into the voting and what specifically he thought was wrong and what he thought I could have done better. It was the best comment I've ever gotten!

But still... I give up.

Hello all. I'm pretty new to this site. Apparently I picked a terrible challenge to submit my first photo. On the other hand my pic really does suck and in case I didn't know it all my new friends (;) have told me so in the comments.
In my defense ( and I sure need one) I really only wanted to get in before the deadline to find out what the submission process was like.
My apologies to everyone..
