Ok... I am a freak for texture ... and I think that the textures in this are rather cool...

Am I alone ???

since you asked... i'll be honest and say that i dont really like the photo. I think i would prefer it a little better if it were duotoned with some shades of brown, sepia and yellow. Maybe a few streaks of green and blue and you'll have me hooked.

But thats just my opinion and im just one person, and my tastes are out of the mainstream in most cases :-)

Uh, yeah. I mean, nope. Hey! Aren't we all freaks in one way or another?

This is a very good photo for texture. Was it for a challenge?

Nope ... not for a challenge... I was out shooting textures(my wife is a 3d artist... and can ALWAYS use textures) I came across this and played with it a bit...

It's just me I guess...but I like the range... or it may be the bottle of vino :)

I passed it through the laundry several times and left it out to dry under the sun. Here is what i got -

hows that?

------
in ps i made a dark version and a light version and overlayed then, then screened another light layer and multiplied another dark layer. then usm.

I like... but that went way the he** past my photoshop skills :)
was the light and dark image based on the last quadtone???

nico_blue's version:

something in the tree's looks off, maybe the bright whites... as for the rest of the photo, it looks good.

yeah it was based on the last quadtone...

Its scary but I can't really give you a step by step of how i did it, I sort of just edited it subconciously... you can definetely say I spend way too much time playing around in ps for my own good.

i like this one - the high contrast makes it flip in my head (looking down looking up)

Now I would go one step further with ralphnev's version and crop out the trees in the top section. The trees make the rest of the picture instantly recognizable and my eyes are drawn to that a little too much. With it gone, it becomes a remarkable abstract.

All personal tastes though :)

The item in the foreground to the right (the blurred item) doesn't add anything to the image. I suggest moving closer to the main subject (the background gas pumps) and zooming in t0 show even more texture.
