I had more trouble coming up with something that I thought would be a good 'color' entry (without including a flower of some kind). Well, preparing what I believed would make a 'decent' entry, only to miss the deadline was dissapointing to say the least. Anyone who would still care to share there opinions of it would be welcomed to do so. (If I provided the link correctly, that is.)

Represents the challenge well. Too bad you didn't get it submitted. I probably would have given it a 6-7. The lighting is nice and so is the composition. I just don't have an attachment to rubics cubes, if you know what I mean :)

Oh shame. I like it.

Great control of the lighting, and the light reflected off the squares is a nice effect.
Looks a little on the soft side, maybe a touch more sharpening or more DoF would have helped, but don't quote me on that!
A strong 7, maybe 8 from me.

Too bad you missed the challenge - I really like this shot. Especially the lighting and composition. Would have voted high on this :)

Pretty cool picture. I think that it would have done well in the challenge. Sorry about your luck

I probably would've voted 8 or 9 (I vote high on average) - I like the lighting and especially the reflections (in addition to the color)

I like it also but would like to see the shot from a little higher to include more of the red on top. I'd probably give it a 6. Maybe 7 if shot from higher.

Thanks to all who took (or are taking) the time to look and/or comment on my coulda, woulda, shoulda, COLOR CHALLENGE photo. I really appreciate each of your comments (even the more critical ones).

I was gonna say the same thing.. Slightly higher angle.. Probably would have given it a 7 as it is. Very nice!

awwww so sorry you missed the challenge! it's a really good photo!

Your image would have done well. Probably a 6 from me.

You have a unique style with lighting. The way you put your subject both in the light andpartly out of the light in the same image is very appealing. Capturing the reflected light off the squares without a direct reflection into the camera is fantastic.

You have a solid grasp of good photographic technique.

I agree with Chris about a slightly higher angle, but that would be a small deduction.

We will see some high scores from you... well, uh, that is if you can get them submitted in time. :)

Can someone help me out with what time the deadlines end on the last date listed for submission. For example, it is 9pm on Sunday (the last day of the Candy challenge) and I have an image to submit, but the challenge appears closed.

I'm realtive new, at this is probably an age old question, but I couldn't find the answer in the FAQ or rules section.

Thanks for any feedback.

My guess is that you are in the Pacific Time Zone. The challenge rolls over at midnight Eastern time, meaning 9pm Pacific. If you think you have it bad, think about the folks on the other side of the date line :)

I thought Rubik's Cubes were extinct.

I would have given it an 8-9 I love your choice of unique subjects and lighting, I agree with the other 2-3 posters that it could have been better from a slightly higher vantage, but that does not stop this from being a great shot!
