There is enough superior work this week to fill a Coffee Table Book.

Welcome to our wonderful world of F&V.

Aelith, I have to agree that this is collectively the best challenge I have seen so far :)

I haven't been involved in this for too long(Voting for the 3rd time and submitted my first one this challenge) but I've seen the other challenge topics and I think that with a topic that is specific, like this one, and not too specific (pencils) people have a wide variety of things to shoot and quite a bit of flexibility with their shots. F&V look natural just about anywhere... except in cans or bags... and have enough variety of shape, color and size that there isn't one clear cut way to please the voters.

Actually .. I am not in a 'wow' thing .. or not now at least (I did not really started to vote) ....
Maybe because I was expecting more FnV 'in situation' and too my own taste, globally, there is too much .. how to say it ... pure 'fruit and veggie" , probably too much 'FnV on a table shots'
So yes they are good individually but globally ... I was expecting more 'different situations' ... maybe more 'candid FnV' ....

Ok .. here is what I wanted to say ... thanks to aelith ... , I take your sentence and rephrase it to express my thought :

>> There too much work this week to fill a Coffee Table Book, even if they are very good

Hey people, I have got to go along with this… I can't believe how good most of the shots I've been commenting on are… I think that in order to get in the top 100 you'll need to get a really high score…

If I need a really high score to make it in the top 100, then I guess I'm doomed. What is Candid F&V? I can't imagine they are too aware of the camera. It would be pretty easy to sneak up on them...I'll have to try that next time. Maybe we should change it from a coffee table book to a dinner table book.

I meant """candid FnV""" between triples quotes .. more like in 'situation', something like early unloading fruits & veggies for a market or things like that

I follow you lionelm. I don't know if my shot falls into that category. I just went to a farmer's old beatup pickup truck on the side of the road, bought a few melons and cukes and asked him if I could take a few pictures. Everything was where he put it, in sort of loose piles of stuff. I thought it would be better that having it looked too posed. All in all I wasn't tremendously happy with the shot, but I needed to get my feet wet somehow and that one sucked less than the other ones I took...So in the ring it went..

I do as well have to agree that there are many many wonderful shots .. I guess it was easier because most of us would have that item in the home and then you have to figure out a way to execute the shot in an original manner ... GOOD JOB everyone!!!

Judging by my scores, mine will be the one with the coffee cup ring on it.

Again, this week, I seem to have gone too abstract and have comments asking "what is it?" The score is about what I expected though. Someday I'm going to surprise myself and shoot something good. :'-D

I agree to you guys that there are many perfectly executed photos this week but this is by far the most boring challenge from start... You who submitted, I'm sorry but it is no way that I can finish voting this week.

as long as you find mine and give it a 10, you're okay

Did you submit? I'd like to see if you can do any better than us.

Dagnabbit... I finally get above a 6 for my score so far (never seen a score that high for me) and you all have to go and say that that ain't going to cut it! Oh well, I am enjoying my mediocre success while it lasts!

From my viewpoint you couldn't be more wrong. There are lots of wonderful photos this week, and I've enjoyed "re-visiting" many of them to take the time to really look at them more closely, enjoy them, and in most cases, up-score them.

If you cannot finish voting this week,(or any week), please don't stoop to blaming the quality of the submissions. The problem at issue with you is, quite simply, your problem, not the problem of the 201 people who took the time to submit. Boring usually comes from within, not from without.
