Hi,

I'm a happy owner of the faboulous camera Sony Dsc-S70.
My question to anyone who knows; can I use a standard filter on this one? And if so, where do I attach it (yes I know, in front of the lins but...:-) Sony does have a filter package for 70 dollar I think but I don't need so many.

Filters I have for my S70:

Cokin - Circular Polarizer
Cokin - UV.0
Tiffen- 812 Warming Filter
Sony - Protector
Sony - ND8
Quantaray - Closeup filters, +1,+2,+4

You need to purchase the VAD-S70 Adapter Ring to use all filters. This will make all 52mm lenses fit.

I'm a total newbie on this thing with filters so;

Can you still zoom when you have a filter on?
Where do you mount it; in front or a little bit backwards in the metal?
The adapter ring, what does this do?

The adapter ring screws into the front of the lens and the filters are screwed onto the front of the adapter.

It protrudes out a bit more then the full zoom length of the lens when fully extended so doesn't interferes with the zoom functions of the camera. With the adapter ring you can also use wide angle lenses. They don't make a tele lenses for this camera, but I was able to find one that works ok with it.
