I think it's a great idea! We can all stay with them too! They can even feed us! ;)

I live/work in Fairfield county in CT, about an hour away from NYC. Traffic stinks, but the seasons are great.

Being one of the smallest states, an hours drive can take you to any of the bordering states. FFLD County is also where many of the wealthier people live, including Jack Welch of GE - but I'm not one of them.

Have a great day everyone - and good luck with the challenge!!!

I bet that wouldn't pass the "born on dating" criteria. Was that stuff ever drinkable?

Have any of ya'll ever heard of Redneck Beer? I have some earrings made out of some actual bottle caps from that brand. I've never seen it in any of the stores but I understand it is up in North Alabama.

Yes, I really have bottle cap earrings that say Redneck and I would probably wear some out of fishing lures if they weren't all so heavy.

Fishing flies are beautiful and not heavy -- just have some made (or learn to make some) without a real hook...here is a place to start...

LOL, I never thought about fishing flies. There's not much call for fly fishing around here. Most fishermen catch bass, catfish, crappie, and brim in the south and they have weights on the lures. The flies would make beautiful earrings and probably would be fun to make. One of these days I will have more time on my hands and I will try this out. Now I must get the perfect fruit or vegetable picture.

I was starting to feel all alone in NY! Welcome satellitespeck to DPC, you are practically my neighbor.

When you're from NYC you're never alone.

I'm in CA now, but a native NY'er. I grew up in Queens, and lived in Greenwich Village for a while.

I'm here in beautiful, suburban Littleton Colorado. Unfortunately probably most well known for the Columbine High School tragedy, but it's a wonderful family oriented community within spittin' distance of Denver and all that it has to offer. <go Broncos!> :-D 'LoDo' is the revitalized downtown area of Denver and has been an example to many cities that are trying to clean up their acts.

I'm originally from northern Connecticut (hi ruthann!) and I definitely miss the ocean, trees and seasons. Especially in the midst of a drought like the one we're having this year. Contrary to what you might have heard on the news, the entire state of Colorado is NOT burning, but we came close this summer. :-)

Enough from me!

There are many websites (some free, I think) which would allow online teleconferencing...if anyone's camera is "low-end" enough to double as a web-cam...

Sudbury is about 2 hours away from Manitoulin Island (the largest freshwater island in the entire world). I travelled to Manitoulin Island for a few of my challenge submissions.. it is just a gorgeous place to visit! So much culture! My old buildings were all shot there. I feel like the only northerner around here :)

Hello all...I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada ...so BigSmiles you are certainly not the only "Northerner" around here (we are severely outnumbered however!)

Thanks for the link -- Edmonton is one Canadian city I've never even driven through. As usual, looks cleaner than most US cities...

Maybe we could set up a chat which would automatically display participants' photos (from their profile). It would be a reminder of who's behind the text.

Everything looks cleaner when it's covered with snow and ice. ;)
