I am originally from Levittown, NY, the first suburb in the United States. So it's not surprising that as soon as I reached a reasonable age I ran like hell from the cookie cutter houses on the 1/8 acre plots, purged myself of that god awful LonG Gisland accent, and headed south.

Ran as far as Burlington, NC, where I went to college at Elon University, (then called Elon College). After four years there, I realized that I am meant to be a country girl.

I currently live in Chesapeake, VA, which was nice and rural 5 years ago, but is quickly becoming my suburbian nightmare. Alas, we gave in and bought a house in Virginia Beach, which we are currently in the process of packing up to move into.

Hokie: Hubby and I honey-mooned in the Appalachian Mts, just west of Galax.

John: Sister went to L-R, so I've spent a little chunk of time in Hickory. Y'all got some twisted roads!

:) I went to Lenoir Rhyne also :) My grandfather use to be the Dean of Registrars there many moons ago... he also taught English, Latin, and Anglo Saxon... he was there for 47 years... he and his family (my father's family) lived in the big house next to P.E. Monroe auditorium until about 1970 or so...

so yah. That where I be.

James Marsters IS the best thing about Buffy. I wonder what he was like in high school...
BTW, your Hot Diggity Dogger storyboard, SIMS and Kellog's ads are great!

I'm from the megalopolis that is Indianapolis, IN. Not a bad town, and close enough to other cities that it's easy to get away when the desire comes. _And_ it's the home of Jane Pauley, David Letterman, and the woman who played Janet on "Three's Company." Woo hoo!

A big ol' tip of the hat to all of the other midwesterners out there. Seems to be quite a few of us.

Anyone else from IN?

Rob

I'm in Tooele, Utah (it's said Too-wil-la, weird I know). I am about 15 miles South West of the Great Salt Lake, and about the same distance from the Chemical Weapons Depot only North West. Utah also has the worlds largest Copper Mine. We are enjoying some rain right now, but it has been a long, hot, dry summer. If any of you listen to country music, SheDasiy is from my home town of Magna, Utah, they went to my High School.

Well, it depends on who you ask. If you ask one of the tailgaters in the $250,000 RV outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium, you might get something for them. Us common folk would rather have a six pack of beer and two tickets to that game up in Tuscaloosa. : )

I'm from Sudbury, Ontario.. living in London Ontario for this school year (taking photography, BTW). Sudbury is about 2 hours away from Manitoulin Island (the largest freshwater island in the entire world). I travelled to Manitoulin Island for a few of my challenge submissions.. it is just a gorgeous place to visit! So much culture! My old buildings were all shot there. I feel like the only northerner around here :)

Has anyone ever discussed a DPCHALLENGE convention? It would be fun to meet 1:1. I would if some camera and software companies would give some demos?

Just please, grudges for the stupid things I typed when I was up too late, and maybe drank one too many.

I am from Kent, Wa. South of Seattle. It is a very scenic area with plenty of water. I never have a problem finding subjects to photograph.

Well, since Langdon and Drew gave birth to this baby and they're in Virginia Beach, I vote we all go there.

(and this has NOTHING to do with the fact that I already live there. lol)
