These are not digital photos, but I am submitting both of them to a magazine contest. I was wondering If I can get honest feedback. Particularly with the one of the boy - I don't know what to title it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The young Don Juan.

too many possibilities for the other. :-)

I am not great at titling photographs but here is what I see in the picture of the boy. First I would clone out the lady in the water with PS because she is a bit distracting that close to the boy. Then I would name it "Expanding limitations" or "Expanding Boundaries". The reason for the title I see a boy running with excitement toward the water but the parents have to expand his boundaries to allow him to go in the water alone. So you see a boy full of excitement but what you don't see is the parents willingness to let his boundaries grow.

well, the one of the female is just titled Bela, because she is, and because that's her name.

Thanks.

I agree that the boy shot would be better if you cloned out the other person. If you want to go with a cliche (and I know you do!), you could title it "Life's a Beach." For the Bela shot, you might want to clone out that small shadow on her chest and see if you can add a bit of detail in her left shoulder since it's pretty washed out. But that's a small spot, so it might not make much of a difference. Nice shots, Stephanie - good luck!

If you want a play on words I would go with "Great Explorations"

It's close enough to "great expectations" that I think people will get it.

"Going for it" may be appropriate ( I can't help remembering how long it took me to persuade my young one to get in the water - he was intimidated with big waves). But that's my personal take which may be different from others' views of the same photo.

"I'll be right back, mom" is another one, as the kid is obviously walking away from the observer, only to come back with something.

Added: Maybe apply some burning on the water, it seems too bright, and same with the shoulder on the second photo.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions - I've extrapolated a title from SDW's suggestions, and titled it "Break Away".

Thanks again.
