I have several pictures that I think will fit the current topic - Symmetry -. The question is which one should I choose.
One is a picture that has focus but the object has dep so the more detailed items are up front leaving the rear with less detail.
The other is more of a close up shot but has less depth.
Another that looks plain and ordinary to the eye. but still is has symmmetry charateristics.

Which one should I choose. That is the question...

Go with the one you like the most, or the one you would most like an opinion on.
The first one could be risky with the voters, the second less so, while the third one doesn't sound all that exciting from your description so wouldn't catch the voters attention.

I have changed my mind on which macro shot to submit about 20 times this week, reshooting and reprocessing, and have ended up settling on a slightly better processed version of the one I originally chose :-/ (for now!).

And I'm breaking symmetry rules for a shot at 'creativity' because both my last two submissions got pasted for being "good shots, but not very creative."

I have three choices, too. The first is symmetrical, but only softly: it isn't exactly the same on each side. The second is a bit goofy, but my famiy likes it a lot. The third is technically good, but kind of boring. I finally decided that the second reflects my personality most, so I'm putting that one up. I think bod is right. Go with the one you like most.

i've switched between 2 photos about 6 times already. i'm sure they will do equally poorly so it doesn't much matter.

It's good to see another C-720 user on here, Jason. Don't worry about it, just think "this is my best shot, now add .5 for it being a crappy cam and not a D10 or something" lol

Or at least that's just me.

i know what you mean. I've been doing pretty well but I know I could be taking much better photos with a better camera. The worst part about it is that since I got mine and started taking a lot of good shots both my dad and my best friends went out and bought really good cameras, i think just to make me jealous. oh well, i'll work with what i've got until i can get some money together (in a few years...)

I've found that with the CLA-4 tube and some Tiffen filters, and Raynox's 2x telephoto lens, I can get some really good shots. I find that they aren't as sharp as I'd like, though.

I recommend that you compare you choices and go with the one that is technically the best. If it is not the image you like the best do not worry, voters tend to reward a quality over content. Keep the one you like best for hanging on your wall.

That's good advice if your goal is to get the highest score you can. My goal is often to get opinions on my favorite, even if I know a lot of people won't like it.

i totally agree with generalE, i dont really go with the high score, In submitting an entry, the first thing in my mind is to show my craft or my style. Aa of this challenge, i got a lot of opinions and suggestion regarding my entry. Some comments like it, but mos of them..they like it more for the next challenge. Some said it doesnt meet the challenge (they noticed that my entry is more acceptable in symmetry challenge) huh!.

Regarding my entry in "time" challenge, i tried not to submit a traditional or the conventional image, i submitted a more radical image...short to say a "a more creative" image. The only agony with that, some people wont understand it, because they cant read your comments regarding the entry, or they cant get your interpration of the challenge. The good thing here is...when you get some comments...bad or good one. I really loves and enjoy reading all the comments/suggestion coming from you guys. Most of the time, it helps. Sometimes you can get a comments that is so ______...he,he,he. Well, i respect their opinions.

For the first two days, got an score 6+, as of now it keeps on dropping and dropping. But, this is the challenge that i recvd more comments...surprisingly a very favorable comments and a lesser score in my stat. Thanks GeneralE, you gave me a good score and a nice comments...thanks for that, i really appreciated.

to dsidwell...go with your heart...i agree with your choice...the one that reflects your personality...show your style. Good luck.

You're welcome. Sorry, but I've been spending too much time venting and not enough voting the last few weeks! Glad I left you a comment, I do try and make them helpful when I do leave them...
Funny, my TIME image probably hasn't varied by more than .05 all week, while my EMOTION entry has been making an agonizingly slow but steady climb from 3.2 all the way to 4.1!

Thanks to all,

I decided to go with the one I really like and spent more time in the shop room that is photoshop.
I'm happy with my decision and I would not mind it on a wall. Be the way, the one I choose was not even one of the one's I was referring to.
thanks again.
