We got the new open challenge theme. I think it will be great. Furthermore, to young people it can be a good oportunity to see some things of those years.
Ummm.... I was born in 1979, Can i submit myself?

70's...totally uninspiring for me.

What deapee said. I don't much about the 70s and can't really think of anything I'd like to photograph. I think I'll sit this one out.

Oh I wish I still had my Paisley shirts, Bell-Bottoms, Red White & Blue Saddle Shoes and my Peace symbol belt...

That was so wrong!

Probably sit it out myself. The only things I can think of are old records, which you can't hardly find anymore. 8 Tracks, which you CAN'T find anymore. And pot and those days have been over for awhile. :)

I think you should dig out some old photos to provide inspiration to the younger DPC members :D

Hey, kid! It doesn't help matters for you to point that little fact out in light of your collection of RIBBONS! Must be the Mickey Mouse ears.... (you know I'm just "kiddin'" around, eh?)

Having been born in 1962, the seventies hold a million memories for me, should be great fun.

Having graduated high school in 1970, how am I supposed to remember the 70's.
02/16/2005 08:52:38 AM · #15
Born in '66, so it holds a special place in my heart too. The album oriented rock (AOR) genre of the day is still my favorite music. I started listening to that stuff at an early age. Oh yeah, I hate disco, so look out. ;)

Many fond memories in that era.
(when I wasn't stoned like everyone was in those days..)
Graduated in 1974 - that was an eternity ago! Now where's my Geritol?

Anybody have a lava lamp or any Orange Velvet furniture? How about a TV encased in a wood cabinet that was treated as furniture and even though it was broken it was still polished regularly and had the little TV on top of it that actually worked....LOL!!!

This challenge should be interesting!!!

Or a stereo system that looked like a two storey coffin.

Loved the 70s. Loved the 60s. Really enjoyed the 50s. Okay, now I'm depressed; but then that's stupid because, hey, I'm still alive! Woohoo!

Ok, so what should us mid-80s kids do about this challenge? I'll go ask my pops, but he'll probably give the old "we had to carry a camera twice the size in knee-deep snow uphill both ways" speech... I'll see if I can find an old 70s car around, it's the only thing I can think of. Anybody else got any groovy ideas?
02/16/2005 09:22:21 AM · #22
Well I missed the 70's but I know one thing that's really big around here concerning 1975. I'm not sure how I would get a picture though. Hmm...

See if you can find a Chevy van with shag carpeting on the dashboard and a waterbed in the back. If you're successful and get into the groove you won't really care if your photo takes a dive. :o)
