Well, I'm coming too. (Sonda and I will drive over together.) But, while I have heard good things about the photography in the canyons that can be reached through Clayton, I've never been to them and would need directions.

I think BrennanOB - in the other thread - mentioned them and if he is monitoring this one, perhaps he will chime in with directions.

PS DDY - how is the Brentwood fruit tree bloom?

To answer your inqury sfalice just a few of the trees have bloomed so far but it is beautiful once all the orchards take full bloom. I have pm sonda and damon about an out of the blue road trip tonight to do some night shooting in the city. If your interested call me on my cell. I'll pm you with my number.

Maybe we should start a bay area information site for all dpcer's who visit the bay area tied in with an a information site targeted specifically for bay area meets. Me and Sonda had a wonderful time in San francisco last night. It was a pleasure to meet you Sonda wish our group could have been a little bigger. We took some wonderful shots of the Golden gate bridge from the marin side with some really cool cloud cover and excellent lighting. We were on Hawks Peak which is off of Anserson road (the first exit past the vista point on the marin side), double under the freeway and make your first right and follow it up to the top of the hill.There is an old world war one bunker at the bottom of the hill that is pretty cool to photograph at night. Some really cool shadow effects. Ok this thread is getting a bit long, who ever is interested in joing our group next time in the bay area make this a watched thread. I'm looking at a meet maybe every two weeks. I have Sonda's # If any of you whant to pm me with a contact # please do so I will keep you informed of our planned activities as well as posting them here.

Great idea, DDYJR. I can start it off with a suggestion: There's an event that should be fun to photograph on Mar. 24-27 at San Francisco State University called robolympics.net. I checked with them on behalf of the camera club I play with, and photographers are welcome. (But there's an admission charge.)

You picked a great spot for photographs last night. Hope you and Sonda post some of the results.

Yeah- how did the photo shoot go, Don? Sorry I wasn't able to make it--hopefully next time. I'm definitely interested in seeing the results!

Robo-olympics is a go for me. I would prefer to go on a thursday or friday if that fits into everybody's schedule. I work on saturdays. Who else is going to join us ? sfalice post the date and time you want to go with a meeting location and we will take it from there. If I'm not a member yet do I have a way to still post pics. I'm not sure how to do that yet. I would love to share my Bridge pictures with you guys.

I don't think there's a way to do it on DPC, but check out //www.orifice.net. (It tends to have a lot of "adult" images on it, but it's the easiest way to upload pictures that I know of.)

Damon I just posted three of my pics under the category places. All three are of the GG Bridge at night. Tell me what you think. Are you going to meet up with me and alice for the robolympics later in march? and is any one going to do a meet march 5th? orifice.net also wanted to know how to look at a bigger image on that site. All I can get are thumbnail sized images to appear? WARNING- THIS PHOTO SHARING SITE DOES CONTAIN ADULT IMAGES THAT MAY BE INAPPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN.

For ease of access, here are Don's pictures:
//orifice.net/1614
//orifice.net/1615
//orifice.net/1616

I dunno what the problem might be- I just click on them and they show the larger version.

I'm definitely going to do Mt. Diablo on March 5; Robolympics is less certain. I'm going to start a new thread about the March 5 trip.

Damon

[ edit ] PS: I really like the first shot (1614). The colors are great and I really like the deep DOF.

Robolympics sounds like fun... I'm not sure if I can make it.. I might join you...

Yes, it was a beautiful friday night, it was nice meeting you as well Don. I posted one pic here.. It is hard to see the details on a 640pixel picture.. But it looks really nice full size. I printed one out and it came out really nice :)

Does that look too soft on your screen? I am having a hard time seeing these tiny pictures on my monitor. However the print was very sharp... And the large size does look sharp as well on my monitor.
