I'm a bit confused about how we're supposed to score this challenge. Without a description of the technique, I can't tell in many cases what the photographer did that was new or unique.

I suggest you think out of the box and let the force guide you.

I'm just going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume that something they did was new and unique and groundbreaking to them and judge based on my perceived quality of the results. I will bump up the scores where a "special" effect has been created within the basic editing rules but of course even most of those techniques have been done before believe it or not, even right here on dpc. :)

Guess that rules out smoke and mirrors for my next shot....

I've never given out so many ones in any chalenge. More disparity in this chalenge then I have seen in awhile. Little mid ground. Some great new ground. And some just old musty burial ground.

The voting seems all over the place so far, I started out over 9 for the first few votes, then the average went to under 5... who knows.

I am very much a "Newbie" in this realm, but having viewed all of the entries made, I failed to recognize a significant number of photographs that, IMHO, could be classified as "Breaking New Ground".

I shall view these again prior to voting...

I would hasten to point out that there are some very lovely photos in this lot,,,,,,, my only problem is getting a good number of them to fit into the Challenge.

Good luck to all,,,

Ray

I see the same thing. One of the best photos I've seen yet in this chalenge could no more be seen as breaking new then the most common among them.

I haven't looked at the images yet, but I don't expect nor will I score on breaking ground in the realms of photography, more I expect to see some techniques and styles that we have not seen on DPC.

Going to look now :D quite excited.

I submited one at the last minute, as it was a hard challenge for me, with being a beginner to digital photography. Most challenges have fantastic shots, so I hope some in this challenge will blow me away. I will be voting later. good luck everyone
