I am interested in starting a web site to showcase my portfolio. I don't have any knowledge of HTML code. Are there any software programs to design the site without actually doing the code yourself?
Does anyone do web site design? How much does it cost to have one done? |

There are programs, but knowing a bit about HTML is needed.
Prices for professionals vary greatly, however for a consumer folio site you shouldn't be looking at a huge amount of money. It all depends on how functional you want it and how many images your looking at displaying.

| I use a "non-photography" web site/hosting/building program - SiteBuildIt, and am in awe of what you get for the price here. You do not need to know HTML, or anything else for that matter. It includes the cost of your domain name, and 1 year web hosting, and they have superior customer service. |

| I use the latest Serif web software which is their WebPlus 9. With it you can construct a site on a "what you see is what you get" basis - no HTML needed. Another bonus with Serif is their web site which has a very lively forum where you can get huge quantities of advice free of charge. Serif staff also answer questions on the forum. They are keen to get feedback. |

Adobe Pagemill came with PS 5.5. Not the most advanced, but handles all the basics well.
Navigator (the browser) used to have a html converter, also. Haven't used it in years, though. I was having software incompatability problems, so I stuck with Explorer.
