I'm new to the challenges. Last week was my first.
Typically, which will have a better score.
Will having more altitude or will the contents in the pic have a better chance.

Personally I think of "from above" as "directly above" not "miles above". A high quality photo that has some unique quality and makes voters want to keep looking at it will score well. A blurry photo taken from a plane at 20000 feet will score poorly... In my opinion at least.

Of course if it's really high, and really good then it will probably score exceptionally well since everyone will be happy. But I would focus on quality, content and technique before I concern myself with altitude.

I'd concentrate on attitude, not altitude...(in both senses of the word)

A good photo will do well.

a good photo that captures something of what everyone feels the challenge is about will do better.

I suspect a clean, well made, and from either high up or directly above the subject will win next week.

I think I'll err on the side of my favourite shot rather than perhaps the most fitting to the challenge.
