A site council member found the yellow-ribbon winner from the Yellow challenge on PhotoSIG today (ironic?). The photo was actually submitted to PhotoSIG on Sept 20th, 2002 and thus it has been disqualified and a new yellow ribbon winner has been announced:

Lemon Twist by karmat

Congrats to karmat!

On a less lighter note, please read and familiarize yourselves with the challenges rules if you have not done so already. This causes less turmoil (and less work for us :).

Too bad the net had to be used. I will second Langdon's request for everyone to please play by the rules.
Congrats, Karma!!

Man, I am sorry someone had to be dq'ed. But, imagine my surprise when I looked at my profile page and saw the ribbon. I thought I had truly lost my mind, as I had not seen this thread!

Pretty good surprise - congratulations, Karmat! I liked the way you set up your macro. Well done (and without cheating!)

Oh, it's both a "what a shame" and a "woo hoo" moment.

It's a shame that people misread or deliberately flout the rules resulting in the need for this kind of post-challenge amendment to the results table.

I always give benefit of the doubt and assume accidental rather than deliberate myself but either way agree 100% that rules need to be upheld.

I loved that boat sunset photo - it's simply stunning. But the DPC challenge is to take a photo that is as great as that one within the challenge time frame (and after the challenge idea has been posted). It's not about looking through one's existing portfolio and finding a fit.

It IS Great that Karma wins a well-deserved ribbon!
