I have a sickness. I like to call it Digital Photography Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This sickness makes my shutter finger twitch til my Compact Flash card is full. It also makes me wish weekends would go by faster so I can see how my new and wonderful picture is doing. I have to check for comments, criticisms, and updates on my score several times an hour each and every day. I dream about pencils and their various uses. How to make them humourous, serious, and even how to get them to dance or do tricks.
Friday nights are better used setting up shots for the week's challenge rather than going out with friends or acknowledging family members. In my world, you can never have enough shots of a pencil, nor can your pencil have enough outfits... batteries never die and there is no recycle time for my flash.

DPOCD. I think that's what I suffer from too. I guess it's a pretty common disease around these parts. do you think those mosquitoes are bringing that in too? I've been talking to a lot of people in the last few weeks who think they have it too. They just haven't been formally diagnosed. I wonder if there's a cure. And if there is, i'll have to make darn sure I never take it!!
Take care.

Mosquitos huh? That'd make an interesting subj......... AAH! It could be the mosquitos bringing it in. I dont think there's any cure for DPOCD. Fortunately though, only people with digital cameras and the internet plus their respective families will get DPOCD. I find myself waiting impatiently for sunday night at midnight to arrive. Gotta see what people think of my pencil. I tried very hard last night with no luck but this morning I think my muse came and paid me a visit.

Dont wanna toot my own horn but I'd be disappointed if my image didn't place in the top 15.

OMG!!!! There is a name for it!! I have to get on my computer every few hours to check for comments and check on how the votes are on my picture. I hate that the voting is for a whole week, but then again I guess some weeks I will need the whole week to come up with and produce the picture I want to submit.
And if getting my aunt and I hooked was bad enough... now my mother-in-law is telling the rest of the family to come and check it out. That's all it takes... one look and I was hooked, but now it's worse that I have submitted.

PLEASE... IS THERE A CURE!!! (I might take a small dose... just so I'm not on here so much)

Deb

I'm very pleased with my pencil shot too. With the something new shot, I was like... "ok, cool pic" With my pencil shot though, I sat and stared at it forever. Thinking about hanging it on my wall. lol. Good luck to both of us and to everyone who has submitted or plans to submit in the pencil challenge.
Take care, and good luck in the challenge.

There's a whole thread titled "addicted" that you might find humorous, and yet too close to home. At least it has been recognized as a disorder, and not just an addiction! ;->

I'm totally new to this website and I sumitted my first photo on thursday. Funny enough that it's entitled "[title removed to protect anonymity]". :)

bens0nn - First, welcome to the site. But second, please don't reveal the title of your photo before the challenge begins! The voting is anonymous. You can edit your own post to remove it, otherwise one of the moderators might do it for you :)

Oppsie.. I didn't think the title would be a big deal, but I also didn't realize the voting was anonymous. My appologies :(
