And don't forget the oft overlooked PictureWindowPro from Digital Light & Color. No useful direct product link as their page uses crappy old frames.

I'll have to check the "About" box ... normally I'd interpret "commercial use" to mean that you process images for other people's projects for pay.

I guess it may require some clarification from Irfan. To me, "private use" means (for example) resizing photos to send to your relatives. But if I'm a wedding photographer and I use IrfanView to resize my photos to generate proof-sized images or whatever for my client, to me, that is using the product in such a way that it provides "commercial gain". Same thing with using it in a DPCPrints-workflow; you are being monetarily compensated for a product that was processed with IrfanView, which to me makes it "commercial".

Simply using IrfanView as part of your normal DPC challenge-entry workflow would not be commercial use though.

That's just how I interpret it... I don't see a differentiation between "your own projects" and "other people's projects". If there is monetary compensation involved, I consider it "commercial", but only Irfan can provide the actual interpretation.

EddyG: You could be right. I see a difference between taking a picture and selling a print of it,and shooting portraits on commission to produce a specified "product" for a client.

I usually use it only as an image browser, not as an editor, so it doesn't make too much difference in my own workflow.

In the Image Management section (top) you list Bibble 4.1 Pro as having a $59 price. That's the price of the "Lite" version. Pro is $129.

Here's the pricing URLfor reference:

GraphicConverter is the Swiss-army-knife tool for image manipulation (also does viewing, management, ...)

iView is one of the most popular image management tools (and it does basic editing too)

Extensis Portfolio is another popular image management tool

Canto's Cumulus is yet another image management tool

Awesome. I'm going to update all this stuff asap. I thought I had changed the Bibble price online already? Thanks to you (AND EddyG who pointed it out in a PM first) for noticing this.

I'll go look at some of my classifications and pricings too.

CRAP.

The $59.95 I originally had Bibble Pro for was the Breezebrowser price. Somewhere along the way, my lines got screwed up.

I'm adding all this stuff as we speak.

@bod - about Simpleviewer - I actually found it really tough to get working properly. I prefer JAlbum with the Simpleviewer skin. If you find SV tough, just do that. :)

Completely updated.

I think I got most if not everything in this thread.
(edit: I forgot the perspective corrector)

I didn't include ALL of the image management tools as I think the ones we have are as good or better (after looking at those pages).

:)

You can see we're still missing lots in the later sections - Image management and Image Manipulation are pretty full.

Hate to be a late commer but a number of us use Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10. It does both photo management and manipulation and is right up there with Elements 3.0. Only downfall is it does not do RAW.

OK M here is mine //www.photomix.com/

Seems silly me giving it to you since you gave it to be to begin with :p

Anyway the software is $29.95 to buy however after downloading the free 15 day trial and then going in to purchase it from there it was only $19.95. Not sure if the discount was only for trail people or for perhaps the holidays.

It has some screen shots in that link so you can see how it works.

Will work on finding more DVD software for you because that one is far too over priced and there have to be better ones out there that are far cheaper.

OK just found the software that I have on my computer for DVDs: //www.arcsoft.com/en/products/showbiz/

It says you can do photos slideshows and all of that. Never tried that though, but have made downloaded movies into DVDs with it and it is totally awsome :) Its fantastic because it lets you make professional DVDs from home and so cheaply too :)

I didn't have too much trouble getting it going, though I cheated and used SimpleViewerAdmin. The only problem I had was with the permissions on the admin config file.

While it's not something I would use all the time, it's very handy to throw a quick, simple-yet-flashy album together.
