Any additions? Categories? How could this list improve? Thanks for those who helped me create it.

Gulp! I guess so ...

It looks pretty good to me ... certainly a handy resource we probably should have been hosting here for some time -- thanks for covering for us!

Quicken has some smaller scale accounting software that can be used for business purposes.

Added Quicken Home & Business - but I don't see a trial, so I left the link empty for now.

Is it possible to get a SC to change the title to something more clear like "Digital Photography Software Resource Page" and then sticky this?

:)

Thx

Have you checked to see what's available through Download.com?
12/13/2004 02:35:41 PM · #16
That's a really cool page and I've already bookmarked it!! MAy I suggest that your links open in a new window (blank). That way we can still have your site available. :-)

Thanks all - I'll add those later tonight.

@GeneralE - Yes, but unless it's a known and tested and helpful program, I don't want to include it. There are 1000s we could have on the page, but I want to include only what some 'real' photographer thinks is a pretty sweet piece of work - not everything available. :)

If you look at the links - several of them come straight from DL.com for the trial versions.

I couldn't find a direct download link JUST for Outlook.

"outlook express" comes with internet explorer (free)

"outlook" is part of the office suite...which is ridiculously overpriced (my opinion)

EDIT: i forgot to thank you for the list though...those flash galleries look quite nice :) ...i didnt even know things like that existed

thanks

I have a few suggestions:
1) A category for panorama tools would be good
2) "cost" doesn't quite cover al the bases, Is it something i flat out have to pay for? is there a free demo version? is it shareware? is it open source?
3) list what platforms it runs on. If a tool only runs under ms-windows, then im not likely to be interested, as I have a small child in my house who does not need to be exposed to the profanity associated with running that OS

I'd suggest Gallery and Coppermine for the gallery section, and XNView for the image management section.

I'd like to see a link to the product homepage as well as a download link.

SimpleViewer looks pretty neat, thanks for that. Playing with it now : )
