Some photos taken last night. These are all taken around he LDS Temple in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City.

The shot of the temple with the reflection in the water is stunning--so sharp and crisp and the colors are exquisite. Great job!

Thanks, that one is my favorite.

It was also the hardest one to take. I was up on the side and it's only about 2 feet wide. Barely enough to put my tripod on it (with the tripod legs close together). I wondered several times if the whole thing was going to tip over!

#2 reflections is really great. on #3, the branches in front aren't helping much, i think you kept those for a framing effect, but they are distracting and don't help the image in any way

The truth is, I really wanted even more of the christmas tree and its lights. But had I not cropped it where I did, there would have been a huge glaring light shining directly at me that would have been extremely distracting. But, still, I loved that tree (it looked so much better in person!) and had to take the shot.

I was talking not about the lighted tree, that looks good, but the branches of another tree which are on the top portion of the image

Yes, I had understood what you meant. I just read my reply and realized I didn't "connect the dots" for you in my explanation.

The branches from the other (unlit) tree were unavoidable due to the angle that I needed in order to get the lighted tree, which is what I really wanted. As explained above, I couldn't go any lower (on the lighted tree) without including the bright light that was shining directly at me. So I ended with a higher angle that ended up including the unlit tree's branches. Make more sense this time?
