I don't have a color version of mine.. I shot using the B&W in-camera option, and then just tweaked it.

seeing you asked:
The "unadorned" version.

Entry: Color:

I somewhat deliberately chose something which would normally be considered "better" in color ... trying to focus on the documentary nature of the shot instead of the cool artwork (not mine).

Sorry. I am posting one that I have questions about. Didn't anyone else see the ape?

He's right there under the branch in profile. His eye is right above the branch.

Only crop and slight sharpening

I had a few requests for this one.
Original

Colour version

Hope you all like it.

Oops forgot edits.
NEF adjustments
Channel mixer
Rotate
Crop
Neat image

I had the horizon slightly tilted which ment I had to clip a little off the shadow :( Took heaps of photo's and this is the best, very difficult angle with many distractions to consider plus angle of the sun.

What a great challenge, so many great shots. Here's my original and two I was thinking about, need your opinions the other two. Thanks

Being a newbie really shows, I can get a thumb nail and I can get a full image on a thread, but I can't get the thumb nail as a link to the image.
Sorry, may be some one can pm me with the instructions.....Thanks

Ok - I see it now, but only because I stared at it for about 15 minutes going, "Find the monkey, find the monkey, find the monkey". Thought the ear was the eye, and couldn't connect it to anything else. It's a good photo when you can tell what it is, but no one is going to spend all day trying to figure it out when there's 600+ entries to go through.

isn't the original, untouched file supposed to be b/w?
