I have a 19" version of this monitor. I has great colour and brightness. you can also match your printer/camera/scanner to get what you see on screen to the printer.

You said 21", but I'd strongly consider checking out the 22" Lacie Electron Blue IV if you're looking for a great CRT monitor...

$689 at B&H, and if you're a NAPP member, you get free shipping! =]

(Although the Samsung listed earlier does look like a decent monitor!)

B&H actually has it for $689, and at that price, for that level of performance, it is an exceptional value. You absolutely can't approach that level of performance in an LCD for anywhere near that price, and it is actually a pretty good price for a high-quality CRT. The 3-year warranty is a plus as well.

Reconditioned? Interesting, I wonder if they were trade in's or something? If there's nothing wrong with them, I'd be interested in buying one of those babies! The only thing that scares me is the 90 day warranty.

Please keep us updated on how it's working.

Singale and I had talked about this briefly over PM... Since it's directly from LaCie, I would guess that the units were returns or had problems which were corrected. The short warranty is a small risk, but my view was that the nearly $200 difference between the reconditioned price and the best available (reputable) new price does offset that risk.
If I were in the market for another large CRT, I think Iwould jump on one of these.
I use a Sony E500 which I bought a couple years ago as a store "demo" and got a good price on. I run it at the 2048x1536 resolution and absolutely love it for photo editing. I woudl anticipate that this LaCie model, with the newer electron gun design, would perhaps be a cut above the Sony.
