a place to describe your technique, if no one can see it until after the voting is done?

| It's been discussed a million times. It is the general consensus that the photo should stand on it's own, and not need paragraphs to explain it. Some feel differently. But honestly, if you need a description to tell you how you are suposed to interpret a particular photo, then what good is the photo? You might as well just have a description challenge? |

Agreed.
I like that the box is there, so after the challenge I can look and see how they created the shot, or where the shot was taken. I'm often disappointed when the photographer leaves it blank.

Consider the Impressionism challenge - would you really want to be able to see details of the work done on those photos while you vote? And likewise, for those who've entered, would they really want ot have the technical stuff open for discussion? Far more challenging to simply present the image, wordless.

I like wordless... so why can't we drop those titles as well? Something like "Eve, Paris 2004" is fine, but trying to explain the photo in the title always seems a little cheesy to me.

No only that, if you are given a place to explain your technique the someone may try to give away there identity.

Same here. I really enjoy reading the descriptions and I am also dispointed when it's blank. Although...I'm not usually very descriptive myself. I guess I should start now.

I guess I wish there was a way then, for the creator to comment on the comments others make. Like when someone ASSUMES to know what I was trying to go for, and makes an asinine comment because of it. It's nice to be able to "respond."
