I submitted a photo from my iPad in the files folder that I thought was the one I resized but it was the bigger dimension version. But it uploaded without any restrictions. Did the website automatic make it correct for guidelines?

I think the site resizes oversize images, but it is better to resize yourself so you are in control of the compression and sharpening applied.

Added: I just tried it and it does auto resize.

Yes. I do that when I'm cruising with nothing but my cellphone.

Yes. I often upload from my S22U phone without resizing prior to uploading. The site accepts the files and resizes them. That being said, I did check and it looses some quality when compared with proper resizing in LR or PS. So if you want the best is better to resized it on a computer. I use Snapseed and LR on mobile. Snapseed saves the files with extension JPEG. DPC does not accept them so I have to change the extension by renaming the file (i.e. delete the "e"). Not sure if that can be done on an iPhone.
