Hello!

Just a couple of quick questions regarding the two newly-opened challenges.

1. For the motivational poster I noticed that in the past it was explicitly written that you should/can add text to the image to create the poster and everyone basically did this, many with borders to fit the typical format. Whilst extended editing seems to cover this, I just wanted to clarify that this one is in the spirit of the previous Motivational Poster challenges because one bit threw me - where it says 'your title should be the motivational quote'. Does this imply we should not use text then but put the quote in the title or am I overthinking?

2. Day late, Dollar short. Is this... I mean we're running with that one are we ;) If that's as much as we're getting for that one it's gonna be an interesting challenge!

Either way it's going to be a fun couple of weeks, thanks admin team!

1. You can definitely add text and borders to your motivational poster; personally I think it's OK to shorten the title if your motivational phrase is really long, but other voters may think otherwise.

2. Yes, it should be interesting ... :-)

Weird -- I assumed the title would be the title of the poster.

Inspiration
Ingenuity

etc.

Yeah -- the phrase can get long...

For Day Late and Dollar Short I need someone wearing shorts in front of a calendar or it's a 1 from me.

Okay, so I immediately started thinking how I could do that shot. And what came to mind was my husband as a exotic dancer posing in a pair of underwear with only $1 bill sticking out of it.

He's done some over the top things for me for this site, but somehow I don't think I can talk him into that one. :P

but I'll give you a point for every dollar bill you get into his shorts

hmmmmm... do I try for a 10 from Posthumous... this is almost too good to pass up.

We'd probably get kicked out for vote fixing.

Day Late and a Dollar....

Whew, could a challenge be more obscure? I mean seriously.

We’re gonna see a lot of shoehorns that’s for sure (how else can one enter?)

I’d still love some description tweaks on the motivational poster rules… the text contradicts the general idea and it’d be a shame if people vote differently or are disadvantaged due to different interpretations.

I just reread your initial question -- I would definitely put the text on the image. Just because it says to title it doesn't mean that you should avoid text on the image. It wouldn't be a motivational poster then, imo -- just a photo.

Following Don and Wendy for the entertainment value. :)

motivational phrases are often relatively long .. some wouldn't fit .. as there are only so many characters allowed in the actual title of the entry ..

so the challenge description I'm finding confusing .. do I have to have a motivational phrase that fits in the place for a title when you submit to a challenge ..

I'm not talking about the title which is combined with your photo in the extended editing rules .. :)

It's not that complicated folks -- make the title whatever you want, and print any type on the image; you are designing a POSTER.

WHAT?!? Shoehorns on DPC? I just can’t see that happening. (btw: I resemble that remark at times).
