not sure if this is happening to anyone else but for a week or more i havent been receiving emails from dpc .. this is on all my devices ..

i have all the relevant boxes ticked in my preferences ..
ie.
Recent Comments
E-mail me when I receive a comment on any of my images that are not in voting.
Private Message Notifications
E-mail me when I receive a private message on DPChallenge.
Confirmations
Send me e-mail confirmations when I submit to a challenge.
etc etc ..

also i sent a query to the sc via the help/contact us option about five days ago and havent heard anything back which is quite odd .. so i dont think they have received it ..

love to know whats going on .. :)

Hey Roz,
I am seeing your ticket... unfortunately we have been remiss in acting on it. we wil get on it forthwith. I will post a response to you, please reply to the ticket if you receive it.

but there's also the issue of not receiving email notifications .. its a weird one ..

Roz, I went for a while a long time ago, when I did not get the requests for validation. Of course, I checked in and saw SC wanted it... but I wondered. They weren't in any file in my email.

thats whats happening to me now .. i'm not getting the email requesting validation .. also if someone sends me a pm .. not getting email notification about that .. also when someone comments on one of my photos .. not getting email notification about that either ..
like i said .. its on all my devices .. so i dont think its from my end .. but with technology you never can tell .. well i cant anyway .. ;)

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you checked your 'Spam' folder? Sometimes I end up with DPChallenge email in my Spam folder and other times I don't (it's rare that they go there, but not unheard of).

thanks Barry .. but yes i've checked .. although somehow my system is set up so nothing goes into a spam folder .. :)

There may be a SPAM or bulk email dustbin on your provider's server, and certain messages are getting routed there and never getting to your computer. This might happen if one of the "from" addresses associated with DPC got on your provider's naughty list. If you have a way to access your email through a web browser, check if there is a SPAM or Bulk email folder and look there.

i went into the browser on my macbook pro and into my emails .. i went into the junk folder .. there weren't any dpc emails there but there were a small amount from other places ..

i went back in my emails on my browser and i'm pretty sure the last email verification i got for a pm was on the 10th July 2022 ..

so just now i entered a challenge to see if i would get the email notification .. i got the email "We have received your photograph for our current challenge."

I'M NOT GETTING THESE ..

look .. if this is just too hard to work out .. i can go back to checking in at dpc to see if anyone has sent me a pm, or if i have received a commnent on a pic ..

thankyou so much Barbara for such a lovely comment .. i didnt get email notification either in the browser or in outlook .. :(
edit to say .. i didnt get it on my phone either .. but that makes sense if i didnt get it in the browser which is where it originates .. sorta .. :(

Roz,
It really sounds like some but not all e-mail "senders" associated with DPC are being blocked by your provider. You could check with them to see whether they are blocking any e-mails from our domain.

thanks for all your help on this ..
i'm not getting .. recent comments, private messages and email asking me to verify a photo in a recent challenge ..

i will get onto my provider .. :)

got in touch with the provider who says there's a firewall that will automatically block any suspicious or malicious emails to protect my telstra email privacy ..
after conversation they suggested i refresh firefox .. which i've done .

now the only way to find out if it has worked is for someone to put a comment on one of my pics or send me a pm ..

i've spent two hours in a chat to my provider ..
now i'm going into firefox help .. cant talk to anyone unfortunately but maybe the problem is there ..

I think the error potentially may be on the Server side versus the Client side. I received about 11 comments in the past two days, and only one came though via email. I checked Spam, and nothing. Any other folks besides Roz and myself experiencing this?

Virtually certain -- providers' "firewalls" get set to flag/block certain email addresses.

I suggest copying DPC email addresses from previously-received emails and sending a request (demand) that they be unblocked to the provider -- CC the message to the highest level corporate exec you can find ...

hey Catherine .. so good to know its not just me ..

and Paul .. as per your suggestion .. i've copied down a few of the email addresses dpc uses .. but re the private messages .. they have a different address for each new pm .. not sure how that would go talking to my provider ..

the interesting thing is that i'm not receiving comments which come through the email address from dpc as admin@dpchallenge.com .. but i am receiving emails from dpc when i submit to a challenge which comes from the same email address ..

also i am waiting on an email from site council re a yearly membership thingo .. but not sure if its been sent ..

i can always check if i've received a comment in my profile and if i receive a pm i can see that on the home page ..
but if site council sends me something it may not come through ..
