OK, I thought the description on the layers challenge was really kind of weird. Not at all what I would consider layers, at least in some of the examples listed.
Layers II · Standard Editing
Capture an image that depicts layers of something. Examples; an onion has layers, a bed has layers (sheet, blanket, comforter), a field/pasture can have layers (fence line, tall grass or crop, distant tree line).
But I kept that in mind when voting. And I realized it was a great exercise for a photographer. Photographs are a lot more interesting when they have layers. And these layers are usually more like the examples given in the challenge description. It was one of those aha moments. I’m going out photographing today - and I will try to see if I can find “layers” in the broader photography sense. Had I not read the description, I would have thought that most of the entries were DNMC.
Thanks for expanding the mind again! |
