This inspired me to suggest this as a potential challenge: https://weather.com/news/news/2022-01-11-frozen-waterfalls-photo-gallery

The only problem with "classic" winterscapes as a challenge is that a maximum of about 1/3 of the world will experience it. I suppose it could work if archival so at least both hemisphere's could participate.

Archival would be great. I'd love this one

I'm one of those that does not have any and can not take a photo of a frozen waterfall. Could still entry a DNMC ;)
Edit: so maybe no...

I've never, personally, seen a frozen waterfall in my life, nor am I ever likely to.

I think I could round up some slightly overweight men, but I don't know if I could get them to cavort in front of my frozen waterfall(s).

I might be able to find an outtake from this 2014 trip to see the ice caves in northern Wisconsin.

IF there was to be a challenge like this I don't think we'd make it specific to frozen waterfalls, though you can "freeze" almost any waterfall with a shutter speed of 1/500th or so and make it "look like winter" ... ;-)

Winter Works of Art can apply to a lot of things including frozen waterfalls. Or just some ice formations such as these I shot several winters ago.

Hi, Marion. You live in the coldest town in Victoria! And I took photos of frost in a bit warmer Hurstbridge so there must have been frost in winter in Ballarat! :)

I've definitely got frost photos. Just no frozen waterfalls ;-( (And Ballarat's reputation is a little underserved. There are definitely colder towns in Victoria - maybe not cities though.)
