The only problem with "classic" winterscapes as a challenge is that a maximum of about 1/3 of the world will experience it. I suppose it could work if archival so at least both hemisphere's could participate. |

I've never, personally, seen a frozen waterfall in my life, nor am I ever likely to. |

I think I could round up some slightly overweight men, but I don't know if I could get them to cavort in front of my frozen waterfall(s). |

I might be able to find an outtake from this 2014 trip to see the ice caves in northern Wisconsin. |

IF there was to be a challenge like this I don't think we'd make it specific to frozen waterfalls, though you can "freeze" almost any waterfall with a shutter speed of 1/500th or so and make it "look like winter" ... ;-) |

Winter Works of Art can apply to a lot of things including frozen waterfalls. Or just some ice formations such as these I shot several winters ago.

I've definitely got frost photos. Just no frozen waterfalls ;-( (And Ballarat's reputation is a little underserved. There are definitely colder towns in Victoria - maybe not cities though.) |
