Got mine a few weeks ago. Feel fine but it’s hard getting used to that 3rd eye I’ve grown in the middle of my forehead.

That's the one you use to spot the unvaccinated so you can cross the street ... :-(

This solves the age-old problem which eye to use for the viewfinder, left or right. Just use the middle one!

Been there done that. But I'm still finding it hard to accept that life is normal. It isn't.

Coincidentally I am getting mine today. An extra eye will be useful.

Actually, as I understand it, when a vaccinated person gets COVID-19, they shed the virus over 200% more than an unvaccinated person does. AND they don't know they have COVID since they usually have little to no symptoms and go about their business as usual. The vaccinated are "Super Spreaders" of the virus, not the unvaxxed.

It's the vaccinated who are the dangerous ones, apparently. Cross the street if you see them coming. :D

Not true, check your sources. And if you were vaccinated why would you worry?

A real trove of politicized misinformation. You just can’t keep your ignorance at bay. Why divide DPC with your sad culture war. Really time to turn off Fox and the idiots on the AM dial. I’d rather read your breathless nonsense about last minute entries.

Actually, I was under the same impression, and FWIW I avoid Fox network and do not listen to AM talk radio.

Interesting. Now I'm curious what I read that had me thinking the same thing.

Lydia, could you please state your sources for that statement. There is a lot of misinformation about what you say and a lot can be wrongly deduced from incomplete statements and inaccurate analysis of ongoing scientific studies.

Barry, what does this have to do with Fox? I don’t necessarily advocate for them but there is misinformation and lies being propagated by all the networks and media news. I don’t wish this to turn into a political argument just to say that it depends on who you listen to and they aren’t necessarily telling the truth. It’s a sad commentary.

I have read that it is possible for a vaccinated person to be spreading the virus, after it gets in them, just as an unvaxed person might spread it after initial exposure, before they show symptoms. But the virus isnt infecting and reproducing much in the vaccinated person. So it is possible, but they won't be super spreaders as Lydia claims.

As has already been mentioned, check with reliable medical sources for good info, not just some aquaintance in a forum. Neither Lydia nor myself.

I had my booster a week ago. Just spent a couple of days in San Francisco, where you have to show your vaccination card to eat indoors. Nice change to be someplace where they take this seriously.

1. You could be crossing the street to protect the other person, just like you wear a mask to protect those you might be exposing.

2. Since we were discussing something that doesn't actually exist I think my comment should be considered tongue-in-cheek and not as serious medical advice -- if you want that I did just renew my license so let me know.

Ok. I think I know where I "may" have heard about the viral load, etc. FWIW ... a couple of links (accurate? perhaps. no guarantees from me).

They're not wrong. Either substantiate your claims or keep them to yourself.
This is how the spread of misinformation happens and why were in this longer than necessary.

This is obviously a highly charged topic. If we are going to discuss it here, we all need to be civil. If you do post what you consider to be information on this topic, you should be ready to back it up with a credible source.

That’s exactly my point. So much of the “facts” we hear by the media are hearsay or partial truths based upon incomplete facts.

Well, I wouldn't exactly put CDC in that category... even though their reputation has been bruised up a bit, they are not going to publish anything that's not backed by available scientific knowledge. Of course, the state of knowledge can and will change, but still.

People tend to listen to and read information on a subject if they already agree with them... not to learn anything new. I'm guilty of it, just as others are.

I don't have the link on where I watched a doctor presenting the fact that vaccinated people shed the virus over 200% more than unvaccinated (FaceBook took my post down), so let's assume that vaccinated and unvaccinated shed the virus at the same rate.

Both do shed the virus if they have it. Vaccinated people can still get the virus.

It is true that vaccinated people are less likely to realize that they have the virus (lesser symptoms, but sheds just as much) and therefore continue to go about their lives... spreading the virus to both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.
