There's no need to make a book cover challenge be archival, IMO... I'd prefer to see folks dreaming up a book and shooting for it, myself :-)

I do like the idea of combining archival with extended editing.

And I can't see why not archival given that 'Foliage' and 'Black and White Abstract' are archival, both of which could be shot during the challenge period.

Black and White, yes ... Foliage (if you're looking for color) is going to be seasonal.

And B/W Abstract was made archival because it's a VERY interesting exercise to go through old work and see what might shine if re-visioned and reformatted...

Finally, Extended Editing historically tends to be used as a perk for paid members, although that hasn't been 100% the case during the pandemic.

The foregoing notwithstanding, upon reflection I can see the allure of using Archival/Extended for this challenge, simply because we can combine discrete elements from our former efforts into a newly-unified whole. Usually, our Archival challenges are NOT Extended. I'm on board with giving it a whirl.
