:D

Artful Overlays : "This challenge is all about creative visualization. "Layering" of images can produce some stunningly beautiful work. Your task is to take two images during the challenge time frame and combine them into a single image in post processing."

Challenge Rules: Extended Editing
Extra Rules: You MUST use two (and only two) images to create your submitted image. Both images must be shot within the challenge time frame."

May we use the two images more than once in the final image? May we use Extended editing on the images separately and then combine them?

Please help.

It's Extended, so "yep", and "yep."

So this is actually a composite challenge and not a (texture) overlay...?

And it's fine if we combine the two images in ways Mark has never even thought of, right . . . so long as there are only two original files? (What I mean is "so it's okay if our entry has nothing whatsoever to do with Mark or his signature extended editing style/approach"?)

Last time I checked this challenge was called "Artful Overlays".

Description:
This challenge is all about creative visualization. "Layering" of images can produce some stunningly beautiful work. Your task is to take two images during the challenge time frame and combine them into a single image in post processing.

Combine two images … make it look pretty. Oh, and while you're at it, have fun! :-D

ETA - I changed the thread title to limit confusion.

One more related question:
Does a panorama shot created _IN CAMERA_ and downloaded from the camera as a single JPEG file count as one shot?

Nope... there were multiple exposures, and they were combined in "post" processing. No matter if said processing occurred in-camera.

just want clarification ..
because focus stacking in a standard edit .. if the photos are almost the same .. count as one photo .. I'm wondering about for this challenge ..
if I focus stack two photos for example .. and then use a totally different photo as the second image .. would that be ok .. :)

I don't know why you changed the title of my post.

It was as I said it was... The Mark Wiley Challenge. :D

Just like Movie Stills is The LevT Challenge.

I'm just waiting for the Amphibians In Hats Challenge... :D
haha!

I didn't change the title, but I was a little relieved when it was changed. I was feeling pressure and worried my entry would be disappointing.

Haha! Didn't affect Mark's outcome. LOL! You'll be fine!
