Just a couple questions... I suspect both answers will be no but thought I would check.

1. If your photo subject is green and not a plant, can there be plants in the background?
2. Can you use green fruit or veggies?

Thanks.

It only matters if you care about maximizing your score, in which case I'm sure we both suspect it would be best to avoid both of those settings. Otherwise ... :-)

That is what I thought. Thanks.

Also, "fruits" and "veggies" ARE plants...

I knew that but just wanted to make sure they were not to be used as well.

Not to be annoying, though I probably am, but lichens are often photogenic, and they're not plants. They're a symbiotic venture of fungi and algae. They're often green, also red, gray, etc.. (two periods, is that right?) To rectify a botanical blind spot in some voters, how about ditching votes of 3 and under, as most of those, though not all, will be the direct result of 'does not meet criteria' assumptions. Just saying.
Additionally, I'd like to request that all votes I receive, henceforth, below 5 be discarded under the assumption that such voters obviously lack esthetic sophistication. Okay?

If you're going to ditch 3 and under, symmetry would demand ditching 8 and above, as most of these scores have been manipulated by prior appearance on social media.

I say we eliminate all votes of 8 and above because clearly they're just trying to blow smoke up people's asses!

Ditch 8 and above? Sure, why not? Speaking selfishly, that's not going to hurt me much.

Is this DPC's version of Cancel Culture?

I hope not.
I'm tired of cancel culture, even when it aligns with my political/social ideology.

Cancel culture? Heaven forbid. I hope it's obvious that I'm joking around. Otherwise it may be necessary to preface such posts "Warning! Buffoonery Ahead! Read on at you're own risk."

Let's scrub all 1-4 and 6-10 votes and see who come out on top

I missed this thread so screwed up and used a fruit - not really thinking a fruit would come under general plant life .. obviously it comes from a plant/tree but there you go and now too late to withdraw so please accept my apologies - if I could delete I would but it doesn't allow me to do so :(

As long as you haven't had a DQ in your last 25 entries/6 months you can submit a ticket explaining the situation and request a "self-DQ" ...

Thank you!

Or... you can ride it out and just take the score. It's no crime to enter stuff that doesn't fit.

I've done this many times and just sucked it up. That way, if you DO get a regular DQ within the next 25 entries then you won't be penalized.

That's what I'd do and I'm annoyed as heck that this thread even comes into play in entering and voting as I think a fruit or vegetable is really a stretch from both the title and description and I would and will score it as if it meets the challenge perfectly.

Just going to ride it out and chalk it up for futures lol - thanks :)
