New toy :-)

This image is straight out of the camera:

The zoom is something else. Low light performance looks excellent, too. Looking forward to putting it through its paces. The specs are pretty impressive.

Hello!
very cool photo!
I am also going to buy a new phone and am now pondering between the iPhone 11 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S21
can you share a few impressions please? especially regarding photographs.

For a phone it is quite good, but I still find the image very soft and blurry (if I just judge the image on its own). Was it handheld? Might be a factor.

I am always disappointed about my phone images (Galaxy A41). They are o.k. for a small print but as you zoom in or try to enhance it....terrible. I always regret not having my camera with me at those moments.

The picture quality is good. I especially like the ultra wide lens, night mode, and being able to take 108Mp shots. The 100x zoom is impressive but I think it will be more of a novelty than anything useful. I can't handhold the phone steady enough for a good image. But the shorter zooms are good, and light years better than my old Galaxy S9+. I forget all the differences between the S21, the plus and the ultra, but unless you're using a tripod the ultra might be overkill.

I did get a great deal on it. And battery life is much better than my S9+. Plus it has a ton of bells and whistles to play with :-) I saw some reviewers who thought it was too big but its really not much bigger than my S9+ so that's not a problem for me. Overall I'm very happy with it.

A couple of challenge entries I took with the phone:

(nevermind this one! It was taken with my D800.)

Yes, it was handheld, and I didn't sharpen it. For most things I still prefer the big camera, but for low light situations the phone actually gets better detail, and in general the picture quality on this phone is better than anything else I've had.

I really liked the car image. The details of that one show it was taken with your D800?

You're right, sorry. Scratch that one.
